Laura Scherian (born 26 June 1988) is an Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the Sunshine Coast Lightning.

Scherian began her netball career in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy at the now-defunct AIS Canberra Darters in 2007, before being picked up by the Queensland Firebirds in 2010 in the ANZ Championship. [3] She was not re-signed by the Firebirds in 2011 which led her to be relegated to the second-tier Queensland Fusion team in the Australian Netball League, where she played at for the next six years as an amateur. [3] She would play only sporadically for the Firebirds in those years when required to replace an injured contracted player. [4] In 2017 she was signed as the last contracted player at the Sunshine Coast Lightning in the new Suncorp Super Netball league, the club she has played at ever since. [5] In her first match at the Lightning, Scherian was named the most valuable player as the side drew with the Firebirds in the opening match of the season. [4] She has signed with the Lightning through to the end of the season. [6]

Sunshine Coast Lightning Australian netball team

Sunshine Coast Lightning are an Australian netball team based at the University of the Sunshine Coast. The team was formed in 2016 as a joint venture between the university and Melbourne Storm. Since 2017 they have played in Suncorp Super Netball. Lightning have played in three grand finals, winning premierships in 2017 and 2018.

2020 Suncorp Super Netball season Sports season

The 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season was the fourth season of the premier netball league in Australia. The season was originally scheduled to commence on 2 May, though was delayed to 1 August due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The defending premiers, New South Wales Swifts were eliminated in the first week of the finals series by the eventual runners-up West Coast Fever. The premiers were the Melbourne Vixens, who defeated the Fever by two goals in the Grand Final at Nissan Arena in Brisbane.

Macy Gardner is an Australian netball player who has played for Queensland Firebirds in Suncorp Super Netball and for Queensland Fusion in the Australian Netball League.

2021 Suncorp Super Netball season Sports season

The 2021 Suncorp Super Netball season was the fifth season of the premier netball league in Australia. The season commenced on 1 May and concluded on 28 August. The defending premiers were the Melbourne Vixens, but they failed to make the finals. The New South Wales Swifts won their second championship in three years, after defeating Giants Netball by 63–59 in the Grand Final.
