Laurels International School

La School is Prayagraj's (formerly Allahabad) first residential and day-boarding international school. Situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, the school has been set up under the aegis of Laurels Global UK. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and headed by Dr. Arun Prakash, who has been the founder principal of seven schools in India and abroad including Delhi Public Schools at Guwahati (Assam), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Korba (Madhya Pradesh), Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) and Bongaigaon (Assam). Dr Prakash has also worked as the founder principal at Pathway International School, Dubai (rechristened as Academy International School) and SAI International School, Bhubaneswar.

Physical infrastructure at the school includes horse riding, half-Olympic size swimming pool, large playground and laboratories including Robotics The school has its own school radio, "Radio Laurels", which broadcasts programmes produced, edited and presented by children.

Arun Sarma was a writer of Assam. Arun Sarma was one of Assam's contemporary playwrights and is particularly known for his unconventional plays with some elements of drama. Besides drama, he also authored over six novels detailing the Assamese way of life. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2010 in recognition of his contributions to Assamese literature. He has also been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1998 for the novel Ashirbadar Rong. Prakash Singh is a retired Indian Police Service officer, who rose to the highest rank of Director General of Police (DGP). He has served as Chief of the Border Security Force (BSF), Uttar Pradesh Police and Assam Police. He is considered one of the best police officers for his role as key architect for Police reforms in India. After his retirement from service in 1996, he filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court of India. The landmark verdict of PIL came in 2006, in which the Supreme Court has given specific directions to the central and state governments to carry out structural changes in the police with a view to insulating it from extraneous pressures and making it accountable to the people.
