Lavender EP is the first EP by Swedish rapper Yung Lean, released on 16 August 2013. [2] [3] [4] [5]

Contents

Although the EP itself was released after Lean's debut mixtape, Unknown Death 2002 , all three tracks on the EP had been released on Lean's YouTube channel prior to it - the earliest and first track Lean ever uploaded was "Greygoose", on 5 December 2012.

Reception

"Ginseng Strip 2002" and "Oreomilkshake" became popular on YouTube soon after upload, and are amongst Lean's best known songs. [6]

Consequence of Sound placed "Ginseng Strip 2002" at number 44 on their "Top 50 Songs of 2013". [7]

Jonatan Aron Leandoer Håstad, known professionally as Yung Lean and Jonatan Leandoer96, is a Swedish rapper, singer and songwriter. Widely cited as one of the most influential figures in the early cloud rap era, Yung Lean rose to prominence in 2013 with his song "Ginseng Strip 2002", which went viral on YouTube. Later that same year, he released his debut mixtape, Unknown Death 2002, and the following year, he released his debut studio album, Unknown Memory. In 2016, Yung Lean released his second mixtape, Frost God, and his second studio album, Warlord. In 2017, he released his third studio album, Stranger, followed by his third mixtape, Poison Ivy, in 2018. Yung Lean's fourth studio album, Starz, was released in 2020. He then released his fourth mixtape, Stardust, in 2022.

Andrew Lamont Thomas, better known by his stage name Yung Simmie, is an American rapper from Miami, Florida. Thomas has been performing since 2009 and has till date brought out a catalog of mixtapes and freestyle renditions, apart from making a few guest appearances in music videos of other artists. He has also been a member of SpaceGhostPurrp's hip hop group, Raider Klan. With over 10 recordings to his credit, Yung Simmie has toured several parts of Europe and the United States independently and as a member of Raider Klan.

Emo rap is a fusion genre of hip hop and emo music. Originating in the SoundCloud rap scene in the mid-2010s, the genre fuses characteristics of hip hop music, such as beats and rapping, with the lyrical themes, instrumentals, and vocals commonly found in emo music. Lil Peep, XXXTentacion, and Juice Wrld are some of the most notable musicians in the genre.

In addition to his music, Reichwald creates visual art, which frequently appears as cover art for his releases. "Ginseng Strip 2002" is a song by Swedish rapper Yung Lean from his debut EP Lavender EP (2013). It was produced by Yung Gud. The music video of the song went viral in 2013, leading to Lean's rise to fame. The song later garnered renewed popularity in 2022, through the video-sharing app TikTok.
