Lea Nass (Hebrew :לאהנס;born 27 December 1961) is an Israeli politician who served a member of the Knesset for Likud and as Deputy Minister of Pensioner Affairs.
Nass studied for her B.A.,M.A. and PhD degrees in biochemistry at Bar-Ilan University,completing her doctorate in 1993. Her research topic was sperm motility. [1] Nass is married to Shlomo Nass,an accountant specializing in liquidations and receiverships,and has five children.
After the completion of her PhD she was elected to Giv'at Shmuel city council,and was responsible for city beautification,sanitation,and the environment from 1993 until 2003. In 1998 and from 2002 until 2003,she also served as deputy mayor.
She was placed in 36th place on the Likud list for the 2003 elections. [2] At the time,she described herself as "the only religious woman in the Likud". [2] When Likud won 38 seats,she became a Knesset member and chaired the Science and Technology committee.
For the 2006 elections she won 17th place on the party's list, [3] but lost her seat as the party was reduced to 12 seats.
In the Likud primaries for the 2009 Knesset elections,held on 8 December 2008,she won tenth spot on the list and was the top female candidate. [4] She returned to the Knesset as Likud won 27 seats in the election,and was appointed Deputy Minister of Pensioner Affairs. Prior to the 2013 elections Nass was placed sixtieth on the joint Likud Yisrael Beiteinu list. [5] She left the Knesset after the alliance won 31 seats.
Yisrael Beiteinu is a conservative political party in Israel,generally classified as far-right. The party's base was originally secular Russian-speaking immigrants,although support from that demographic is in decline. The party describes itself as "a national movement with the clear vision to follow in the bold path of Zev Jabotinsky",the founder of Revisionist Zionism. It has primarily represented immigrants from the former Soviet Union,although it has attempted to expand its appeal to the broader Jewish Israeli population.

Dan Meridor is an Israeli politician and minister. A longtime member of the Likud party,in the late 1990s he became one of the founders of the Center Party. He rejoined Likud a decade later,and returned to the Knesset following the 2009 elections. Meridor served at various times as Deputy Prime Minister,Minister of Finance,Minister of Justice and Minister of Intelligence and Atomic Energy in the Israeli Cabinet. In 2014,Meridor succeeded Avi Primor as president of the Israel Council on Foreign Relations,an institute of international affairs which operates under the auspices of the World Jewish Congress.
Ze'ev Elkin is an Israeli politician who currently serves as a Member of the Knesset for the New Hope Party. He was previously a member of the Knesset for Kadima,Likud and the National Unity Party and served as Minister of Jerusalem Affairs,Minister of Housing and Construction,Minister of Immigrant Absorption,Minister of Environmental Protection,Minister of Higher Education and Minister of Water Resources.
Sofa Landver is an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Yisrael Beiteinu and as the country's Minister of Aliyah and Integration.
Lia Shemtov is an Israeli politician who currently serves as a member of Nazareth Illit City Council. She was a member of the Knesset for Yisrael Beiteinu between 2006 and 2013.

Orly Levy-Abekasis is an Israeli politician and former member of the Knesset. Formerly a model,Levy-Abekasis first entered the Knesset in 2009 as a representative of Yisrael Beiteinu,but left the party in 2017 to sit as an independent. In 2019,she formed her own party,Gesher,to contest the April 2019 elections. Although the party failed to win a seat,she returned to the Knesset following the September 2019 elections,in which Gesher ran together with the Labor Party. In May 2020,she was appointed by Prime Minister Netanyahu as the newly created Minister for Community Empowerment and Advancement.
Faina Kirschenbaum is an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Yisrael Beiteinu between 2009 and 2015. In July 2021 she was sentenced to ten years in prison following a conviction for bribery.
Carmel Shama-Hacohen is an Israeli lawyer and politician. He served as a member of the Knesset for Likud in two spells between 2009 and 2014,before becoming Israel's envoy to the OECD,UNESCO and the Council of Europe. In 2018 he was elected mayor of Ramat Gan.
