Lee Maiyani Kinyanjui is a Kenyan politician. He is the second and immediate former governor for Nakuru County.
He is a 47-year-old graduate of Kenyatta University where he graduated in literature and later pursued a master's degree in business administration at the University of Nairobi.
Lee Kinyanjui belongs to the Jubilee Party and was elected to represent the Nakuru Town Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. [1] In 2013, he unsuccessfully vied for the Nakuru gubernatorial seat, losing to Kinuthia Mbugua. He vied for the second time, for the same seat, in 2017, trouncing Governor Kinuthia Mbugua in Jubilee Party primaries. In August, Lee Kinyanjui was elected as the Nakuru Governor, effectively becoming the second governor of the county. He served as the Assistant Minister for roads and later as the first chairperson of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA). During his tenure at NTSA, he oversaw digitisation of driving licences and logbook acquisition by introducing TIMS. As Nakuru Governor, Kinyanjui has initiated Mega projects including construction of Level 4 hospitals across Nakuru County, upgrade of 73-year-old Afraha Stadium, rehabilitation of rural roads through Boresha Barabara program and upgrade of Lanet Airstrip into an international airport. Kinyanjui is also pushed for Nakuru Municipality into a city, which it is currently.
Nakuru County is a county in Kenya. It is county number 32 out of the 47 Kenyan counties. Nakuru County is a host to Kenya's Fourth City – Nakuru City. On 1 December 2021, President Uhuru Kenyatta awarded a City Charter status to Nakuru, ranking it with Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu as the cities in Kenya. With a population of 2,162,202, it is the third most populous county in Kenya after Nairobi County and Kiambu County, in that order. With an area of 7,496.5 km2, it is Kenya's 19th largest county in size. Until 21 August 2010, it formed part of Rift Valley Province.

Kinuthia Mbugua is the first and immediate former governor of Nakuru County in Kenya. Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua was trounced by his close rival Lee Kinyanjui in a hotly contested nomination. Kinyanjui was declared winner with 223,583 votes against Mbugua's 139,784 with 10 out of 11 constituencies tallied. He has had an illustrious career in the Civil Service in 1978 as a District Officer and served extensively throughout the country rising to become a District Commissioner in Nakuru.
Johnson Arthur Sakaja is a Kenyan politician serving as the governor of Nairobi City County since 25 August 2022. Previously, he served as the Senator of Nairobi from 2017 to 2022, and as a nominated Member of the National Assembly from 2013 to 2017. Kinyanjui Kombani, popularly known as "The Banker who Writes", is a Kenyan novelist, playwright, scriptwriter, and literature critic/activist. His novels, The Last Villains of Molo and Den of Inequities have been used for undergraduate and postgraduate education by universities in Kenya and abroad. Kombani is also a recipient of the Kenyatta University Outstanding Young Alumni Award 2014 and was recognized as a Business Daily Top 40 under 40 in 2015.

Susan Wakarura Kihika is a Kenyan lawyer, politician, and the first female governor of Nakuru County. She was also among the seven female Governors that were elected in the 9 August 2022 Kenyan general election against a total 44 male governors, marking significant progress from the three female governors that had been elected in the 2017 elections.

Eric Muchangi Njiru Karemba is a Kenyan politician and a businessman, and currently the Member of Parliament (MNA) for Runyenjes Constituency, serving a second term and also the Chairman of the Labour and Social Affairs committee. Runyenjes is in Embu County in Eastern part of Kenya. Karemba belongs to the United Democratic Alliance party under the Kenya Kwanza alliance led by the current and the fifth president of Kenya Dr William Ruto. He is a graduate of Kenyatta university with a Bachelors of Education and was a student leader at the same university. Karemba made history by becoming the first Akorino MP in the history of Kenya. Karemba currently serves as the Chairman of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.
