General (Ret.) Lee Sang-eui,ROKA,was the 35th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.
Prior to assuming the position of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2009,he was Commanding General of the Third ROK Army. He became the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,following his predecessor Kim Tae-young's assuming of the Defense Minister position.
In 1999 he was married and had two children Lee Junwoo (2000) and Lee Heesoo (2006)

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) is the body of the most senior uniformed leaders within the United States Department of Defense,which advises the president of the United States,the secretary of defense,the Homeland Security Council and the National Security Council on military matters. The vice chairman outranks all respective heads of each service branch,with the exception of the chairman,but does not have operational command authority over their service branches. The vice chairman assists the chairman in exercising their duties. Before that,he served as Commanding General,U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command,from December 8,2008,to April 11,2011,as Acting Commander,U.S. Central Command,from March 24,2008,to October 30,2008,as Deputy Commander,U.S. Central Command,from August 2007 to March 23,2008,and as Commanding General,Multi-National Security Transition Command –Iraq (MNSTC-I),from August 2005 to August 2007. Dempsey assumed his assignment as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on October 1,2011 and stepped down from the Chairmanship on September 25,2015. He has served as a professor at Duke University and as chairman of USA Basketball.

The senior enlisted advisor to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (SEAC) is the most senior non-commissioned officer (NCO) position overall in the United States Armed Forces. The SEAC is appointed by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to serve as a spokesperson to address the issues of enlisted personnel to the highest positions in the Department of Defense. As such,the SEAC is the primary enlisted advisor to the chairman,and serves at the pleasure of the secretary of defense. The SEAC's exact duties vary,depending on the chairman,though the SEAC generally devotes much of their time traveling throughout the Department of Defense,to observe training and communicating to service members and their families. The SEAC's normal term of assignment runs concurrently with the chairman,but an incumbent may be reappointed to serve longer. The first member to hold this post was William Gainey. The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) is the highest-ranking military officer and the head of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP),including all service branches under its command. The position is usually held by a four-star rank of General or Admiral. Its direct equivalent in the US Armed Forces is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The May 16 military coup d'état was a military coup d'état in South Korea in 1961,organized and carried out by Park Chung Hee and his allies who formed the Military Revolutionary Committee,nominally led by Army Chief of Staff Chang Do-yong after the latter's acquiescence on the day of the coup.
