Leif Bergdahl (born 1941) is a Swedish physician and former member of the now defunct right-wing political party New Democracy. He served at the Riksdag, Swedish Parliament.

Biography

Bergdahl was born in 1941. [1] He has a degree in medicine and was promoted to the title of associate professor in medicine. [1] He is a heart disease specialist and worked in Alabama, USA, for one year. [2] He was a member of the New Democracy and was elected to the Riksdag in the 1991 general election. [1] He served at the Riksdag between September 1991 and October 1994. [1] During his term he was part of the special pension working group. [3]

He was one of the shareholders of the mining company Northland which went bankrupt in 2015. [4]

The 1809 Instrument of Government, adopted on 6 June 1809 by the Riksdag of the Estates and King Charles XIII, was the constitution of the Kingdom of Sweden from 1809 to the end of 1974. It came about as a result of the Coup of 1809, in which King Gustav IV Adolf was deposed. The promulgation of the constitution marks the point at which Sweden transitioned from the absolute monarchy of the Gustavian era into a stable, constitutional monarchy adhering to the rule of law and significant civil liberties.

New Democracy was a political party in Sweden. It was founded in 1991 and elected into the Riksdag in the 1991 Swedish general election. It lost all its seats in the Riksdag in the subsequent election in 1994, and its subsequent decline culminated in bankruptcy in February 2000, at which time it retained only one city council post. Local factions of New Democracy reformed into minor parties such as Sjöbopartiet, which faced mixed success.
