The British Columbia Liberal Party formed the government during the 39th Parliament prior to this general election, initially under the leadership of Premier Gordon Campbell then after his resignation, Christy Clark. The British Columbia New Democratic Party under the leadership of Carole James, and then Adrian Dix, formed the Official Opposition. The BC Green Party under the leadership of Jane Sterk and the BC Conservative Party under John Cummins were also included in polling, although neither party had representation at the end of the 39th Parliament.

The Tennessee Volunteers women's track and field program represents the University of Tennessee in the sport of track and field. The indoor and outdoor programs compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Lady Vols host their home outdoor meets at the newly renovated Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium, located on the university's Knoxville, Tennessee campus. They formally held meets indoors at Stokely Athletic Center until the arenas demolition in 2012, but will soon have a new indoor track facility sometime in the 2020s. The team is led by current head coach Duane Ross who took over the program after the firing of Beth Alford-Sullivan in May 2022.

Martin Rios is a Spanish-Swiss curler. He competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics in the mixed doubles tournament with partner Jenny Perret, winning a silver medal. He is two-time World Mixed Doubles Champion and 2011 European Mixed Champion. At the 2012 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship he was partnered with Nadine Lehmann and at the 2017 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship he was paired with Perret. Rios also won a bronze medal at the 2014 European Mixed Curling Championship.
Lorenzo Senatore, ICG, AIC is an Italian cinematographer. He studied filmmaking in Rome, and at the age of 25 became the youngest steadicam and camera operator in Italy. He has served as a camera operator and 2nd unit director of photography on numerous blockbuster films including 300: Rise of an Empire, Spectre, London Has Fallen, Beauty and the Beast, and Wonder Woman. He has also served as director of photography on a number of Syfy television films.

Kill Chain: The Cyber War on America's Elections is an American television documentary film produced by Ish Entertainment, Blumhouse Productions and HBO Films. The film examines the American election system and its vulnerabilities to foreign cyberwarfare operations and 2016 presidential election interference. The film also features hackers at the conference DEF CON in their attempts to test the security of electronic voting machines.
