Lessdress is a Polish glam metal / hard rock band originally formed under the name Ferrum in Warsaw in 1984. Lessdress is arguably the most successful glam metal band from Poland, having played the largest hard rock and metal festivals in Central Europe including the Przystanek Woodstock festival and opened for among others Def Leppard. [1] Their first two albums are recognized collectors items fetching hundreds of dollars on eBay [2] . Due to high demand, the band reformed in 2007 and their debut album Dumblondes was remastered and re-released the following year by the Australian label Suncity Records.

Frontman, vocalist and main songwriter Pawel Nowakowski, the son of career diplomats, grew up mostly outside of Poland, in London from age 8 and until 15 and then Washington, D.C., from the age of 18. [3] Pawel's brother is vocalist Adam Nowakowski [4] of Warsaw band Incrowd who recorded two albums in the mid 1990s. [5]

In Washington Pawel formed the band Steel Knickers, whose claim to fame was an article in Kerrang! highlighting two new American bands, the other was Metallica. Steel Knickers recorded a three track demo in 1984, and one of the songs "Bloody Hard" appeared on the compilation album "Mutopia". [6] Steel Knickers were negotiating a deal with MCA but could not complete it as Nowakowski was not allowed to work in the US and also wanted to go back to his girlfriend and studies at ASP (Academy of Fine Arts) in Warsaw. Eventually he had to return to Poland when his father's diplomatic assignment ended.

Upon his return to Warsaw, Poland in 1984, he formed a new band, Ferrum. [1] Ferrum was active from 1984 to 1989 and in 1986 they played the Jarocin [7] and MetalMania festivals in Poland. Following a change in style and line-up, the band became Lessdress in 1989. The band´s debut album Dumblondes was released the same year and was influenced by Van Halen, Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard.

Lessdress recorded their second album Love Industry in 1991, but it was not released until 1994 on the Austrian label Schubert Records. The influences on this album included the bluesier sound of Poison on their recent album Flesh & Blood and also Skid Row and Guns N' Roses. The band split up in 1995, and attempted a reunion already in 1997. This reunion did not produce any recordings and fell apart in 1999 due to the death of bass player Slawomir Onacik. [8]

2007 the remaining members reunited with a new bass guitarist and the same year they released their third album Sugarfree . [9] The sound was a departure from their previous recordings and they continued in a similar but more melodic direction with their latest album, 2014's Fools Die Young . [10] The Australian label Suncity Records re-released the band´s debut album Dumblondes in 2008. In 2015, Lessdress supported Def Leppard on their tour in Poland including a show at Warsaw's Torwar.

Lessdress main man Pawel Nowakowski is also known as creative director for the Warsaw digital agency Grandes Kochonos with top name clients like ING [11] and Kenwood.

The band was founded by three students of Warsaw's vocational high school (technikum) - Robert "Robal" Matera (guitar), Krzysztof Grabowski (drums), and Dariusz "Stepa" Stepnowski (bass). All three were born in 1963, and went to the same class. From the beginning Grabowski wrote lyrics, and Matera music. The three classmates originally planned to name their band Sektor A, but after some time changed their minds and named it SS-20. Soon afterwards, they were joined by another student of the same school, Dariusz "Skandal" Hajn, who, as Grabowski later stated, "looked like a real punkrocker". The band started regular rehearsals in the summer of 1981. With fast guitar riffs and intelligent lyrics written by Grabowski, Dezerter's concerts drew thousands of fans and its LPs were very popular, especially in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Izrael was one of the most popular and influential Polish reggae bands. It was formed in March 1983 in Warsaw by two well-known Polish underground musicians: Robert Brylewski and Paweł Kelner.

Track 1-4 was recorded in 1983, in Studio Wawrzyszew, 5-8 and 15-17 in 1984 at Jarocin Festival, 10-15 and 18 on illegal session on Program 1 Polskiego Radia studio.

Tożsamość is the ninth studio album by the Polish heavy metal band Turbo. It was released on December 13, 2004, in Poland through Metal Mind Productions. The album was recorded in 2004 in Poland. The cover art was created by Maciej Piotrowski and photographs by Grzegorz Kupczyk. The live performance on the Akustycznie bonus CD was recorded on December 16, 2003, at the Blue Note club in Poznań.

Kryzys is a Polish rock music band, regarded as a pioneer of Polish punk rock and reggae. The origins of Kryzys go back to 1978, when the Warsaw punk rock ensemble The Boors was started by Robert Brylewski, Piotr Mrowiński (g.), Marek Iwańczuk and Kamil Stoor (dr.), who was replaced in January 1980 by Maciej "Magura" Góralski - poet, drummer. In May 1979, the band changed the name into Kryzys ('Crisis'), which was suggested by Brylewski. Under their new name, they performed at the legendary First All-Polish Review of the New Wave, in early August 1980 at Kołobrzeg. Soon afterwards, due to contacts of manager Jacek Olechowski, Kryzys played a tour of Upper Silesia and Zagłębie Dąbrowskie, and Pomerelia.

Diamond Star Halos is the twelfth studio album by the English rock band Def Leppard. It was released on 27 May 2022 through Bludgeon Riffola and Mercury Records, and is the band's first studio album in nearly seven years since 2015's Def Leppard. The album takes its name from the 1971 T. Rex single "Get It On" and includes imagery from Anton Corbijn, Maryam Malakpour, and Oliver and Joshua Munden.
