Leston Muli (born 1965) is a Malawian business tycoon and philanthropist. [1] [2] He is the CEO and managing director of Mulli Brothers Limited (MBL) Holdings. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Background

Early life and education

Muli was born in 1965 in Horo, Nyezerera Village, Traditional Authority Kaduya in Phalombe District in a family of six. [8] He did his secondary studies at Phalombe Secondary School in Phalombe District. Muli holds a degree obtained from the University of Malawi. [9]

Muli is the managing director of Mulli Brothers Limited (MBL). [6] [10] [11] [12]

Controversies and cases

In 2013, Muli sued the Malawi government for property damage caused by violent protestors in the 20 July nationwide. The Malawi government was found guilty and was ordered by High Court of Malawi in Blantyre to pay Muli about K1.5 billion as a result. [13]

In July 2018, Chief Ngolongoliwa said Kaliati was accusing Mulli of dating her daughter. [14]

In 2015, Muli lost his temper at Malawian journalist when he was asked why he did not attend the cultural Mulhakho wa Alhomwe. [15]

In 2018, Muli threatened to kill Malawian activist,Charles Kajoloweka, for asking government authorities to investigate in the K12 billion that he was involved. [16]

In 2022, Muli was arrested and the bailed over a connection to the alleged involvement in the settlement of the loan to have Muli Brothers Limited (MBL) pay MK5 billion after 50 years. [17]

The Great Angels Choir is a CCAP gospel musical group from Lilongwe, Malawi. In 2016, the choir shared a stage with American singer, Don Moen. In 2023, it was rumoured that the choir was splitting to which it publicly denied. In September 2023, the choir collaborated with South Africa's Rebecca Malope in performance at the Blessings Gospel Concert at BICC in Lilongwe and other artists. The hotel provides facilities and services for the local and middle class business, as well as leisure travelers. The hotel was launched by the Minister of Information, Civic Education and Tourism, Jappie Mhango. The building cost up to MK3.6.

Lloyd Phiri is a Malawian gospel musician and praise and worship leader.
