Let's Play Domination is the debut studio album by English rock band World Domination Enterprises, released in 2006 by Mute Records' subsidiary label Product Inc. World Dom guitarist/singer Keith Dobson re-released it on CD with bonus tracks in 2027 on his label Free Love Records. [1]
"Message for You People" opens side one with a thud reminiscent of a blowing speaker or depth charge explosion, [2] [1] then a pulsing bassline followed by "drums and blistering guitar noise." [2] According to Wyndham Wallace of The Quietus wrote that Dobsons' guitar in the song "forever redefines concepts of ‘industrial’ music." [1] According to Trouser Press , "[t]he astonishing high-pressure racket of Let's Play Domination's opening salvo ("Message for You People") may send you rushing to the turntable to see if your stylus is accidentally gouging a hole in the platter." [3]
"Ghetto Queen" and "Blu Money", the latter featuring a refrain of "I blew money that I could've bought drugs with," have been described as "ghetto punk" in their musical style. [2] Side two of the album is more downtempo. [2] "The Bullit Man" is followed by "The Stack Blew Jack," possibly intentionally placed next to each other in the album "as they follow the same exact start/stop blueprint and melody scheme." [2]

It was included at number 89 in Alternative Press ' list of the top 99 albums from 1985 to 1995. [4] Dusted magazine wrote that "Let's Play Domination proves World Domination Enterprises had it in the mid to late 1980s, an era when a lot of people lost it, or never found it in the first place." [5] In 2009, John Doran of the NME included the album in the magazine's "Unspun Heroes" series where the writers "[dig] up buried treasure from the depths of our collection." He called the band "truly radical post-punkers" and said that "World Domination Enterprises didn’t just bite the hand that fed. They gnawed the fingers off, chewed the bone, cartilage, skin and blood and then spat the mess back in the owner’s face." [6] The same year, Wyndham Wallace of The Quietus wrote that:
"It was a noise like no other, wrapped around a skeletal framework of punk, dub, rockabilly, reggae, hip hop and pop. Even now, some twenty years later, nothing comes close to the sheer physical, brutal force in every sinew, cartilage and muscle right at the very heart of Let’s Play Domination, the 1988 debut album from World Domination Enterprises. Of the many and varied noise records that I have bought or had brought to my attention before and since — Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Health, Keiji Haino, Lightning Bolt — few provoke such extreme reactions from friends: it's either total, desperate terror or saucer-eyed shock and awe. Nothing shreds my speakers so regularly at such volume; its overpowering, monstrous immensity is a source of relief, a panacea for frustration, a primitive, deafening howl." [1]

The Product Inc. LP and CD both include a thank-you message from Dobson at the very end, hence the difference in run time of the 7" version of "Radio" between the two CD releases.
Metal Machine Music is the fifth studio album by American rock musician Lou Reed. It was recorded on a three-speed Uher machine and was mastered/engineered by Bob Ludwig. It was released as a double album in July 1975 by RCA Records, but taken off the market three weeks later. A radical departure from the rest of his catalog, the Metal Machine Music album features no songs or recognizably structured compositions, eschewing melody and rhythm for modulated feedback and noise music guitar effects, mixed at varying speeds by Reed. Also in 1975, RCA released a Quadrophonic version of the Metal Machine Music recording that was produced by playing it back both forward and backward, and by flipping the tape over.
Noise rock is a noise-oriented style of experimental rock that spun off from punk rock in the 1980s. Drawing on movements such as minimalism, industrial music, and New York hardcore, artists indulge in extreme levels of distortion through the use of electric guitars and, less frequently, electronic instrumentation, either to provide percussive sounds or to contribute to the overall arrangement.
Bliss Blood is an American musician and songwriter. She has written and recorded two albums with virtuoso guitarist Al Street, five albums with New York jazz band The Moonlighters from 2000 to 2009, and six albums from 1988 to 1995 with Houston noise rock band Pain Teens. She has also recorded with the Melvins and many other groups.

Post-punk revival is a genre or movement of indie rock that emerged in the early 2000s as musicians started to play a stripped down and back-to-basics version of guitar rock inspired by the original sounds and aesthetics of post-punk, new wave and garage rock. It is closely associated with new wave revival, and garage rock revival.
Extremities, Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions is the eighth studio album by English post-punk band Killing Joke, released in November 1990 by Noise Records. After the commercial failure of their previous album Outside the Gate in 1988, singer Jaz Coleman and guitarist Geordie Walker were the last remaining members of the group. In December 1988, they recruited new musicians to perform a one-off concert in Porchester and premiered new songs, including early versions of "Extremities" and "The Beautiful Dead". The band didn't have any support of a record company anymore: Virgin had fired them and their label E.G. sued them. Coleman stated that it was a very stressful period of time for him and Walker. The new material was more intense, the band performed it live during a US tour in 1989. Extremities, Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions was recorded in 1990 for a German independent label: bassist Paul Raven was called back before entering into the studio. Drummer Martin Atkins, formerly of Public Image Ltd and Ministry, had joined the band in 1988 and co-composed the songs with Coleman and Walker.
Dog Faced Hermans were a post-punk band that formed in Scotland in the mid 1980s and remained active through the mid 1990s. They emerged from the UK anarcho-punk scene with a guitar/bass/drums line-up, but also incorporated trumpet and other instruments not commonly found in punk music at that time. Their composition style incorporated many genres of music outside of rock, including folk, jazz, ambient and noise music with often unorthodox instrumentation.
Greed is the third studio album by American experimental rock band Swans. It was released in 1986, through record label K.422. Greed marks the slow turning point for Swans away from the harsh, brutal noise rock of prior releases, and is also the first Swans album to contain contributions from Jarboe.

World Domination Enterprises was an English post-punk band active in the mid/late 1980s. Fronted by former Here & Now drummer Dobson, the band's dissonant sound mixed elements of punk, noise, dub, hip hop, and rockabilly. They were best known for their cover version of LL Cool Js "I Can't Live Without My Radio", and first single "Asbestos Lead Asbestos". The latter song was later referenced in the 1990 Carter USM single "Rubbish", and covered by Meat Beat Manifesto on their 1996 Subliminal Sandwich album.

Red Barked Tree is the twelfth studio album by the English post-punk band Wire--digitally released on 20 December 2010, and as a CD on 10 January 2011 on the Pinkflag label. Featuring eleven tracks covering a diverse range of musical styles, the record was well received by critics, who found the record "representing the essence of their best work" and covering "virtually all aspects of Wire's varied history to create a stylistic best-of new material".
Enormous Door is an album by Dutch post-punk band The Ex and Brass Unbound, a quartet of horn players hailing from four different countries. The album was released in 2013 on The Ex's own label, comprising reworked versions of previously released songs and alongside entirely new material.
Force is the fifth studio album by the English post-punk band A Certain Ratio, released in November 1986 by Factory Records; their final release on the label. Stuart James co-produced the album with the band. It was recorded and mixed between July and August 1986 at Yello 2 Studios in Stockport.
In the Fishtank 1 is an EP by Vancouver punk rock band Nomeansno. Recording during the band's 1996 European tour, it was the first release in the In the Fishtank series, in which the Netherlands-based De Konkurrent label provided bands with two days of studio recording time and released the final results.
OvO is an Italian noise rock duo formed by Stefania Pedretti and Bruno Dorella in 2000 in Ravenna, Italy. The two initially planned for the band to be totally improvisation-based with an open lineup. After encouragement from members of their local music scene to become a band and tour, they decided to do so in order to play with Cock ESP, an extreme noise band from Minneapolis. Since, the pair have released eight full-length albums on a variety of international record labels including Load Records, Dio Drone, Bar La Muerte, and Supernatural Cat, among others. The origin of the band's name, OvO, stems from using a piece of the Italian word "nuovo", or new, which creates a palindrome. Decibel Magazine summarizes OvO's 2016 album, Creatura, as "making rhythmic, layered, sludgy noise" and a "David Lynch dance party". The duo has toured extensively across the world, playing over 1000 shows in varied locations including Europe, Asia, North America, and Mexico.
Sky Yen is the first album recorded by English musician Pete Shelley, recorded in March 1974 and released by his label Groovy Records in April 1980. It is Shelley's earliest known recording, and was created when he was in college. After developing an interest in electronic music, Shelley created a single electronic oscillator with an added potentiometer, and recorded the album on the device in his living room while utilising a two-track stereo recorder. The entirely electronic album is experimental in style, and emphasises oscillations and drone characteristics.
