Lewd Acts is an American hardcore punk band from San Diego, California, United States, formerly signed to Deathwish Inc.. The band released their debut full-length album, Black Eye Blues, on September 1, 2009. [1] In April 2010 The Haunted's Peter Dolving cited them as one of his favourite bands. [2]

Contents

Lewd acts disbanded in July 2010. [3] In May 2012, Lewd Acts announced their intent to reunite and resume touring and writing new material again. [4] On September 26, 2014. Lewd Acts under the moniker 'Lou Dax' played in Tucson, Arizona. [5]

Corrosion of Conformity American heavy metal band

Corrosion of Conformity is an American heavy metal band from Raleigh, North Carolina, formed in 1982. The band has undergone multiple line-up changes throughout its existence, with guitarist Woody Weatherman as the sole constant member. Weatherman, founding bassist Mike Dean, founding drummer Reed Mullin, and vocalist and rhythm guitarist Pepper Keenan are widely regarded as its 'classic' line-up. After a hiatus in 2006, Corrosion of Conformity returned in 2010 without Keenan, who had been busy touring and recording with Down, but announced their reunion with him in December 2014.

Deep Wound was an American hardcore punk band formed in 1982 in Westfield, Massachusetts. They released one self-titled 7" and contributed two songs to the compilation LP, Bands That Could Be God, both of which are sought after by fans and record collectors alike. The band influenced the Massachusetts hardcore scene and the development of grindcore.

Planes Mistaken for Stars

Planes Mistaken for Stars is an American rock band formed in Peoria, Illinois in 1997. Working with several different labels, they released three studio albums and four EPs before breaking up in 2008. While rooted in the post-hardcore and emo scenes of the turn of the century, Planes Mistaken for Stars developed a distinctive musical style strongly influenced by heavy metal and rock and roll. Reuniting for live performances in 2010, they went on to release their fourth album Prey in 2016.

Deathwish, Inc. is an independent record label conceived by Jacob Bannon of Converge and Tre McCarthy in 2000. Their first release was Deeper the Wound, a split album between Converge and Japanese band Hellchild on April 23, 2001. Deathwish established itself quickly, working with a diverse group of bands and eventually becoming one of the most respected and innovative labels in contemporary hardcore punk and aggressive music in general.

The Hope Conspiracy is an American hardcore punk band from Boston, Massachusetts, United States, formed in late 1999. They were picked up by Equal Vision Records and Bridge 9 Records before signing a deal with Deathwish Records.

Breakdown is an American hardcore band formed in Yonkers, New York in late 1986. The band emerged from the mid-1980s New York hardcore scene, where they helped to pioneer the sound of beatdown hardcore.

The Suicide File was an American hardcore punk band from Boston, Massachusetts that formed in April 2001. The band wrote songs with a mostly political message, although many songs also dealt with social and personal problems. Most of the band's output was released on the Southern California-based hardcore label Indecision Records. The band reunited in June 2006 to embark on their first European Tour. Members of the bands are or have been affiliated with The Hope Conspiracy, Death By Stereo, When Tigers Fight, Adamantium, Give Up the Ghost/American Nightmare, Clouds, Panic and many more. Most of these are bands with whom Alexander has drummed for short periods of time. Dave Weinberg was also known for his frequent collaborations and duets with Julie Ecker and James "Boom Boom" Auclair. Despite their short tenure, The Suicide File continues to be revered within the hardcore punk community for their musical output and lasting impression on the flourishing Boston hardcore scene. The band since 2006 has played a small number of successfully sized reunion sets.

Wesley Eisold American musician, poet and author

Wesley Eisold is an American musician, poet and author. He records music under the name Cold Cave, and runs the publishing house Heartworm Press.

At the Mercy of Inspiration was a heavy metal band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band formed in 2000 and went on indefinite hiatus in 2004. They toured with Alexisonfire, The End and A Day and a Deathwish.

Trash Talk is an American hardcore punk band from Sacramento, California, formed in 2005. They have toured all around the world including Japan and Europe, as well as performed in many festivals in support of their releases which helped give the band recognition from publications including Rolling Stone.

Würm was a sludge metal band started in 1973 by bass player Chuck Dukowski, who would later join Black Flag. They released two LP's on Greg Ginn's SST Records and some tracks on compilations. They were active from 1973 to 1977 and from 1982 to 1983.

Deafheaven American metal band formed in 2010

Deafheaven is an American blackgaze band formed in 2010. Originally based in San Francisco, the group began as a two-piece with singer George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy, who recorded and self-released a demo album together. Following its release, Deafheaven recruited three new members and began to tour. Before the end of 2010, the band signed to Deathwish Inc. and later released their debut album Roads to Judah, in April 2011. A follow-up album, Sunbather, was released in 2013 to wide critical acclaim, becoming one of the best reviewed albums of the year in the United States. In 2015 the band released their third album, New Bermuda, and in 2018 their fourth, Ordinary Corrupt Human Love. In 2021, they released their fifth album, Infinite Granite.

<i>Black Eye Blues</i> 2009 studio album by Lewd Acts

Black Eye Blues is the second studio album by the American hardcore band Lewd Acts. The album was released on September 1, 2009 through Deathwish Inc. Black Eye Blues was met with generally positive reviews. NME said the song "Night-Crawlers" is "a melodic welt to be worn proudly." The illustrations for Black Eye Blues were done by Tyler Densley, and the design and packaging were done by Jacob Bannon of Converge. The album was produced by Kurt Ballou also of Converge.

Untitled Deafheaven demo EP 2010 EP (demo) by Deafheaven

The untitled demo extended play by the American black metal band Deafheaven was self-released by the band on June 1, 2010. A remastered edition was released in 2012 through Sargent House.

Cult Leader

Cult Leader is an American hardcore punk band that formed in 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was founded by three members of Gaza following the band's break-up. Cult Leader signed to Jacob Bannon's record label Deathwish Inc. and have released two studio albums, Lightless Walk (2015) and A Patient Man (2018), as well two EPs through the label, showcasing a brutal sound with prominent elements of extreme metal.
