Oconto County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 38,965. Its county seat is Oconto. The county was established in 1851.

William J. Abrams was an American railroad surveyor, railroad businessman, and politician. He served as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate and the Assembly, and was the 21st and 23rd Mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin. His name was often abbreviated as W. J. Abrams.
John Penn Arndt was an American merchant, shipbuilder, and Wisconsin pioneer. He was an early settler at what is now Green Bay, Wisconsin, and served in the 1st Wisconsin Territorial Assembly. He was responsible for the first dam on the Fox River and for building some of Wisconsin's first sailing ships. His son Charles was infamously killed during a session of the Wisconsin Territorial Council in 1842.

In the American Civil War, he served as a Union Army artillery officer. He was a son of Levi Hubbell—the first Wisconsin state official to be impeached.
The 1848 Wisconsin gubernatorial election was held on May 8, 1848. This was the election for the first Governor of Wisconsin, which became a U.S. state that year, as it was held concurrent with a public referendum to ratify the Constitution of Wisconsin.

Located in northeast Wisconsin, the district comprises part of northwest Brown County, and much of southern Oconto County, including the cities of Oconto and Oconto Falls, and the villages of Howard and Lena, and part of the city of Green Bay. The district is represented by Republican David Steffen, since January 2015.
Elijah Behnke is an American small business owner and Republican politician. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, having won an April 2021 special election in the 89th Assembly district.
