Lewis Andrew Schoenbrun (born September 21, 1958) [1] is an American filmmaker and editor.
Schoenbrun became a fan of director Stanley Kubrick at age nine, when he watched the film 2001: A Space Odyssey . [2] At eleven years old, Schoenbrun shot short films with his father's super 8 film camera, and received his own camera from his parents at the age of thirteen. In the 1970s, during his time at a university, he worked at a PBS station in Atlanta, Georgia, and later spent a year working with Tela Moving Images, a production company in Springfield, Massachusetts. [2] During his time with the production company, he used a Moviola to edit a documentary film about a trip to Kenya, Africa that he went on with a group of aspiring astronomers.
In the late 1980s, Schoenbrun acted as an assistant editor on the films Mystic Pizza and UHF . After directing several direct-to-video films in the 2000s, Schoenbrun and a producer wanted to make an adaptation of the comic book hero Spider-Man, starring a female protagonist. [3] In the summer of 2010, having instead chosen to create a parody film of the character the Hulk, Schoenbrun financed and directed the film The Amazing Bulk in Los Angeles, California. [3] He remained in Los Angeles to work on the film's post-production and to shoot the film Aliens vs. Avatars .
He currently teaches at the International Academy of Film and Television in Cebu, Philippines. [2]

The expansion of the mining colony threatens the continued existence of a local tribe of Na'vi, a humanoid species indigenous to Pandora. The title of the film refers to a genetically engineered Na'vi body operated from the brain of a remotely located human that is used to interact with the natives of Pandora.

James Cameron is a Canadian director, screenwriter, and producer who has had an extensive career in film and television. Cameron's debut was the 1978 science fiction short Xenogenesis, which he directed, wrote and produced. In his early career, he did various technical jobs such as special visual effects producer, set dresser assistant, matte artist, and photographer. His feature directorial debut was the 1982 release Piranha II: The Spawning. The next film he directed was the science fiction action thriller The Terminator (1984) which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the titular cyborg assassin, and was Cameron's breakthrough feature. In 1986, he directed and wrote the science fiction action sequel Aliens starring Sigourney Weaver. He followed this by directing another science fiction film The Abyss (1989). In 1991, Cameron directed the sequel to The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and also executive produced the action crime film Point Break. Three years later he directed a third Schwarzenegger-starring action film True Lies (1994).

Aliens vs. Avatars is a 2011 science fiction film directed by Lewis Schoenbrun. The film is a mockbuster of Alien vs. Predator and Avatar. The film follows the intergalactic battle between a quarrelsome alien race and shape-shifting extraterrestrials, while six college friends find themselves in the middle of the interstellar war. The film stars Jason Lockhart, Kim Argetsinger, Dylan Vox, Georgina Totentino, Marlene Mc'Cohen and Ginny You. Aliens vs. Avatars was released onto video, DVD and TV on September 20, 2011. As of at 2021, The film's distributor, Summer Hill Entertainment, refers to the film as "Alien vs. Alien”.
The Amazing Bulk is a 2012 American independent live-action/animated direct-to-video superhero parody film directed and co-produced by Lewis Schoenbrun, starring Jordan Lawson, Shevaun Kastl, Terence Lording, Juliette Angeli, Jed Rowen and Randal Malone. Despite being initially created as a parody, it was considered to be a mockbuster of the 2008 The Incredible Hulk film, as well as other media featuring the Hulk character. Drawing parallels from the Hulk franchise, the film follows a research scientist who injects himself with an experimental serum, which inadvertently results in him gaining the ability to transform into a giant, purple-skinned humanoid monster whenever he gets angry.
