The Mighty Mighty Bosstones were an American ska punk band from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 1983. This Is Boston, Not L.A. is a hardcore punk compilation released in 1982. It is considered the definitive album from the Boston hardcore scene, as several of its most prominent bands appear on the record, namely, Jerry's Kids, the Proletariat, the Groinoids, the F.U.'s, Gang Green, Decadence, and the Freeze. For them, with the exception of the later, This Is Boston, Not L.A. was also their debut release. Al Barile's band, SSD, were asked to contribute, but they refused to participate.

I Spy was a Canadian hardcore punk band founded in Regina, Saskatchewan, in 1991, relocated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1994, and disbanded in 1996. <i>Background</i> (Lifetime album) 1993 studio album by Lifetime

Background was the first LP released by Lifetime. It was recorded in 1992 and was released on January 1, 1993, as New Age Records #15. The CD version was re-issued on July 1, 1997, with nine live bonus tracks. It is currently out of print although all the songs including the live bonus tracks are available on the Somewhere in the Swamps of Jersey collection. The European edition of the album is titled Ghost and has different artwork and track listing. Ghost was released by Break Even Point Records as a 12" vinyl LP with a limited pressing of 1,000.

Killing Time is a New York hardcore band. From their beginnings in 1988, under the name Raw Deal, they went on to record two full-length albums and several EPs, singles, and compilation tracks. The band went through three hiatuses before formally disbanding in 1998. However, the band re-formed in 2006 and has been touring/playing since. Work on their third full-length album was completed in March 2009.
