Lily Lyoonjung Lee (born September 26,1969) is a Korean-American former competitive figure skater. She represented South Korea at the 1994 Winter Olympics.
Born in Seoul,South Korea,Lily Lee moved to the United States as a child and was raised in Alexandria,Virginia. [1] She holds dual citizenship.
Lee was coached by Kathy Casey in Colorado Springs,Colorado. In the 1980s,she competed on the national level in the United States,winning the 1987 Eastern Sectionals and qualifying several times for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
Toward the end of the 1980s,Lee began appearing internationally for South Korea while still living and training in the United States. She won the bronze medal at the 1989 Golden Spin of Zagreb [2] and competed at six World Championships,achieving her best result,17th,in 1990. She was selected to represent South Korea at the 1994 Winter Olympics and finished 21st. The Winter Olympic Games is a major international multi-sport event held once every four years for sports practiced on snow and ice. The first Winter Olympic Games,the 1924 Winter Olympics,were held in Chamonix,France. The modern Olympic Games were inspired by the ancient Olympic Games,which were held in Olympia,Greece,from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894,leading to the first modern Summer Olympic Games in Athens,Greece in 1896. The IOC is the governing body of the Olympic Movement,with the Olympic Charter defining its structure and authority.
Tonya Maxene Price is an American former figure skater,retired boxer and a reality television personality. Born in Portland,Oregon,Harding was raised primarily by her mother,who enrolled her in ice skating lessons beginning at three years old. Harding spent much of her early life training,eventually dropping out of high school to devote her time to the sport. After climbing the ranks in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships between 1986 and 1989,Harding won the 1989 Skate America competition. She became the 1991 and 1994 U.S. champion before being stripped of her 1994 title,and 1991 World silver medalist. In 1991,she became the first American woman and the second woman in history to successfully land a triple Axel in competition. Harding is a two-time Olympian and a two-time Skate America Champion.
The 1994 Winter Olympics,officially known as the XVII Olympic Winter Games and commonly known as Lillehammer '94,was an international winter multi-sport event held from 12 to 27 February 1994 in and around Lillehammer,Norway. Having lost the bid for the 1992 Winter Olympics to Albertville in France,Lillehammer was awarded the 1994 Winter Games on 15 September 1988,at the 94th IOC Session in Seoul,South Korea. This was the only Winter Olympics to take place two years after the previous edition of the Winter Games,and the first to be held in a different year from the Summer Olympics. Michelle Wingshan Kwan is an American diplomat and retired figure skater. She is a two-time Olympic medalist,a five-time World champion and a nine-time U.S. champion. She is tied with Maribel Vinson for the all-time National Championship record.
Tara Kristen Lipinski is an American former competitive figure skater,actress,sports commentator and documentary film producer. A former competitor in women's singles,she is the 1998 Olympic champion,the 1997 World champion,a two-time Champions Series Final champion (1997–1998) and the 1997 U.S. national champion. Until 2019,she was the youngest single skater to win a U.S. Nationals and the youngest to become an Olympic and World champion in figure skating history. She is the first woman to complete a triple loop-triple loop jump combination,her signature jump element,in competition. Starting in 1997,Lipinski had a rivalry with fellow skater Michelle Kwan,which was played up by the American press,and culminated when Lipinski won the gold medal at the 1998 Olympics.
Nancy Ann Kerrigan is an American figure skater and actress. She won bronze medals at the 1991 World Championships and the 1992 Winter Olympics,silver medals at the 1992 World Championships and the 1994 Winter Olympics,as well as the 1993 US National Figure Skating Championship. Kerrigan was inducted into the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2004.
Oksana Serhiyivna Baiul-Farina is a Ukrainian retired competitive figure skater. She is the 1993 world champion and the 1994 Olympic champion in ladies' singles.
Carlo Fassi was an Italian figure skater and international coach whose students included several World and Olympic champions. As a single skater,he was the 1953 World bronze medalist,a two-time European champion,and a ten-time Italian national champion (1945–54).

Tonia Sue Kwiatkowski is an American figure skating coach and former competitor. She is a two-time Winter Universiade champion,a winner of two silver medals on the Champions Series,and the 1996 U.S. national silver medalist. She finished in the top ten at two World Championships and competed in 13 U.S. Championships. Carol Heiss Jenkins and Glyn Watts were her longtime coaches. Kwiatkowski retired from amateur skating in 1998 and continues to be involved in the sport as a skater and coach.
The U.S. Figure Skating Championships is a figure skating competition held annually to crown the national champions of the United States. The competition is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating. In the U.S. skating community,the event is often referred to informally as "Nationals". Medals are currently awarded in four disciplines:men's (boys') singles,ladies' (girls') singles,pair skating,and ice dancing in four colors:gold (first),silver (second),bronze (third),and pewter (fourth) on two levels,senior and junior. Medals were previously given at the novice,intermediate,and juvenile levels. The event is also used to determine the U.S. teams for the World Championships,World Junior Championships,Four Continents Championships,and Winter Olympics,however,U.S. Figure Skating reserves the right to consider other results.

I,Tonya is a 2017 American biographical sports mockumentary black comedy film directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay by Steven Rogers. It follows the life of figure skater Tonya Harding and her connection to the 1994 attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan. The film states it is based on "contradictory" and "true" interviews with Harding and her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly,suggesting they are unreliable narrators. This means the viewer must decide for themselves whether to see the film as the truth or as a version concocted by Harding herself. It features darkly comedic interviews with the characters in mockumentary style,set in the modern day,and breaks the fourth wall. Margot Robbie stars as Harding,Sebastian Stan as Gillooly,and Allison Janney as Harding's mother LaVona Golden. Julianne Nicholson,Caitlin Carver,Paul Walter Hauser,and Bobby Cannavale also star.

On January 6,1994,Nancy Kerrigan,an American figure skater,was struck on the lower right thigh with a telescopic baton by assailant Shane Stant as she walked down a corridor in Cobo Arena in Detroit,Michigan. Kerrigan had been practicing skating on an ice rink in the arena shortly beforehand.
