History

Founded as The South East Soccer Association in 1957, the founding teams were Blue Lake, Millicent, Mount Burr, Nangwarry and Naracoorte. [1] The league later became the Western Border Soccer Association with the competition growing due to migrants from countries such as Italy, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Holland and the United Kingdom. [2]

In 1986 the Green Triangle Soccer League was formed and played separately to the South East Soccer Association for two seasons. The SESA had International, Centrals, Blake Lake and Moorak whilst the GTSL had Apollo, Croatia, Portland, Millicent United, Millicent Wanderers and Naracoorte United. In 1988 the clubs combined again with the league becoming the Western Border Soccer Association.

In 2021 the South East Women's Football Association finished and women's leagues were introduced to the LCFA. [3]
