Linda Camilla Algotsson (born 22 March 1972 in Rockneby, Sweden) is a Swedish Olympic eventing rider. [1] She competed at five Summer Olympics (in 1996, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016). She finished 4th in team eventing on two occasions (in 2008 and 2012). Meanwhile, her current best individual Olympic result is 13th place from 2008.

Linda Algotsson also participated at five World Equestrian Games (each edition between 1994 and 2010) and at five European Eventing Championships (in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2009 and 2013). She won two individual silver medals at the European Championships with the horse Stand By Me. At the 2005 Europeans she finished 4th in the team portion.

She is the older sister of the fellow rider Sara Algotsson Ostholt. Her brother-in-law, Frank Ostholt, is also an eventing rider.

The individual eventing event, part of the equestrian program at the 2004 Summer Olympics, was held from 15 to 18 August 2004 in the Olympic Equestrian Centre on the outskirts of Markopoulo in the Attica region of Greece. Like all other equestrian events, the eventing competition was mixed gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division.

The team eventing event, part of the equestrian program at the 2004 Summer Olympics, was held from the 15–18 August 2004. For the first time since 1992, the team and individual contests ran concurrently. The team event used the results of the first three phases of the individual eventing program to award rankings. A fourth phase was included in the individual competition for the first time. The competition was held at the Olympic Equestrian Centre on the outskirts of Markopoulo, in the Attica region of Greece. Like all other equestrian events, the eventing competition was mixed gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. 14 teams, each consisting of between three and five horse and rider pairs, entered the contest.

William Speed Lane Fox-Pitt is an English equestrian who competes in eventing. His career highlights include winning three Olympic medals in the team event, with silver in 2004 and 2012, and bronze in 2008. At the World Equestrian Games, he won team gold and individual silver in 2010, and team silver and individual bronze in 2014. He also won World team medals in 2002 and 2006. At the European Championships, he has won six team gold medals, as well as Individual silver in 1997 and 2005, and Individual bronze in 2013. He is the recordman CCI*****'s winner with 14 grand slam titles. In 2011, he became the first rider to win five different five-star events, having won the Burghley Horse Trials a record six times, Rolex Kentucky three times, Stars of Pau twice, the Badminton Horse Trials twice, and the Luhmühlen Horse Trials once (2008). A serious fall in 2015 left him in a coma for two weeks, but he came back to make the British eventing team and attend the 2016 Summer Olympics. He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2018 Birthday Honours.

The individual eventing in equestrian at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held at Greenwich Park from 28 to 31 July. Michael Jung of Germany won the gold medal. Sweden's Sara Algotsson Ostholt won silver and Sandra Auffarth, also of Germany, took bronze.

Wega was by the stallion Irco Mena, and out of La Fair, who was on the 4th place-finishing 2012 Olympic team with her daughter. Wega was also a member of the Swedish team at the 2011 European Championships.

La Fair was a dark brown mare horse who competed in the eventing competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2013 European Equestrian championships. In both cases, she was ridden by Linda Algotsson. La Fair made 28 starts in international competitions with Algotsson during her career. Her daughter, Wega, competed on the same 4th-placed team at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
