Linda Coffin is a former England women's international footballer who played as a centre half. Coffin won the Women's FA Cup four times with Southampton Women's F.C. [1]

Club Career

Coffin's first appearance in a WFA Cup final came in 1974 when her Southampton team were beaten by Fodens. She celebrated success in the 1975 and 1976 finals with victories over Warminster and QPR. Coffin's father Noel Coffin was the team manager in the 1974, 1975 and 1976 finals. After losing the 1977 final to QPR, Coffin then transferred to QPR and lost the 1978 final against her former club Southampton 8-2 at Wexham Park, Slough. She returned to Southampton and won the WFA Cup for a third time in 1979 against Lowestoft Ladies. Her last cup win came in 1981 at Knowsley Road after a 4-2 win versus St Helens. [1] [2]

In 1986 she joined Red Star Southampton and later played for both Brighton & Hove Albion and Reading Royals. [3]

International career

Coffin made her debut on 22 May 1976 when England played Wales. Her teammates later nicknamed her 'The Rock'. [3] In November 2022, Coffin was recognized by The Football Association as one of the England national team's legacy players, and as the 28th women's player to be capped by England. [4] [5]

Patricia "Pat" Chapman is a former Southampton WFC and England women's international footballer. She won 32 caps for England following her debut against Wales in 1976 and competed at the 1984 European Competition for Women's Football. In 1978 Chapman scored a record six goals in the Women's FA Cup final in Southampton's 8–2 win over Queens Park Rangers. In total Chapman scored a record ten goals in WFA Cup finals and won the tournament six times between 1973 and 1981.

Pat Davies is an English former footballer who played as a striker for England and Southampton WFC. She played in England's first ever fixture against Scotland on 18 November 1972 at Ravenscraig Stadium, a match which England won 3–2.

The 1977–78 Women's Football Association Cup was the eighth edition of the WFA Cup, the national women's football knockout competition in England. It was organised by the Women's Football Association (WFA) and was named The Pony WFA Cup for sponsorship reasons.

Linda Curl is an English former footballer who played as a midfielder or forward for the England women's national football team winning 62 caps and scoring 27 goals. At club level she won the WFA Cup with Lowestoft Ladies in 1982 and also with Norwich in 1986, scoring in both finals.

Buckett won the Women's FA Cup eight times between 1971 and 1981 and was the first ever goalkeeper to save a penalty in the competition's final.

Lynda Hale is a former England women's international footballer. She represented the England women's national football team at senior international level and spent most of her career at Southampton Women's F.C.
