Larry Lee Belcher was an American educator, county zoning administrator, and Democratic member of the Kentucky House of Representatives. He represented Kentucky's 49th House district, which includes parts of Bullitt County. Belcher was killed in a car accident in 2008. His wife Linda, a former elementary school principal, replaced Belcher on the 2008 ballot. She was subsequently elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 2008 and was reelected in 2010. She lost in 2012, won again in 2014, lost in 2016, and won a special election to return to the legislature in February 2018.
Kenneth Upchurch is an American politician and Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from Kentucky's 52nd House district since February 2013. He had previously held the seat from 1999 to 2010. His district includes McCreary and Wayne counties as well as part of Pulaski County.
Russell Webber is an American politician and a former Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing District 49 from 2013 until 2015 and District 26 from 2015 to 2024.
Bart Rowland is an American politician and a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives representing District 21 until 2023. He was first elected in a February 7, 2012 special election to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Representative James Comer to become state agriculture commissioner. Rowland did not seek reelection in 2022.
Kimberly King is an American politician and Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from Kentucky's 55th House district 55 since January 2011. Her districted is composed of Mercer and Washington counties as well as part of Jessamine County.
David W. Osborne is an American politician who has served as a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives since May 2005. He represents Kentucky's 59th House district which includes part of Oldham County.
Adam Koenig is an American politician who represented district 69 in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2007 to 2023. He was defeated for renomination in 2022 by Steven Doan.
Derrick W. Graham is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Kentucky House of Representatives representing the 57th House district, which includes the Kentucky capital city of Frankfort, since January 2003. In 2023, Graham became the first African American to lead a legislative caucus in the Kentucky House of Representatives.
Carlos Brogdon Embry Jr. was an American politician and a Republican member of the Kentucky Senate representing District 6 from January 1, 2015, until September 26, 2022, when he resigned due to cancer. He previously served in the Kentucky House of Representatives starting on January 1, 2003, and leaving office on January 1, 2015, to serve in the Kentucky Senate. Embry was a mayor of Beaver Dam, Kentucky from 1970 until 1973. Embry died three days after his resignation from the senate for health reasons at a hospice in Bowling Green, at the age of 81.
Charles W. Miller is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Kentucky House of Representatives representing District 28 from January 1998 to January 2023. He was first elected in a January 1998 special election following the resignation of incumbent Republican representative Bill Lile. He was defeated for reelection in 2022 by Republican Jared Bauman.
Joseph M. Fischer is an American politician and a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives representing District 68 from 1999 to 2023.
Julie Marie Raque Adams is an American businesswoman, politician and a Republican member of the Kentucky Senate representing District 36 since January 1, 2015. She is a former member of the Kentucky House of Representatives and the Louisville Metro Council.
Paul Hornback is an American politician and former Republican member of the Kentucky Senate. Hornback represented District 20 from January 2011 to January 2023.
The 2020 United States Senate elections were held on November 3, 2020, with the 33 class 2 seats of the Senate contested in regular elections. Of these, 21 were held by Republicans, and 12 by Democrats. The winners were elected to 6-year terms from January 3, 2021, to January 3, 2027. Two special elections for seats held by Republicans were also held in conjunction with the general elections: one in Arizona, to fill the vacancy created by John McCain's death in 2018; and one in Georgia, following Johnny Isakson's resignation in 2019. These elections ran concurrently with the 2020 United States presidential election in which incumbent president Donald Trump lost to Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

Special House elections were also held on various dates throughout 2020.
Danny Ray Johnson was an American religious leader and politician whose many extravagant biographical claims were refuted in an exposé released two days before his suicide. Married twice with five children, Johnson was originally from Louisiana, but had settled in Kentucky's Louisville metropolitan area by the 1980s. Throughout his life, Johnson claimed to have been involved with many prominent Americans and in many important US events; however, evidence would later come to light disputing most of these claims.
Kentucky state elections in 2018 were held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, with the primary elections being held on May 22, 2018. These midterm elections occurred during the presidency of Republican Donald Trump and the governorship of Republican Matt Bevin, alongside other elections in the United States. All six of Kentucky's seats in the United States House of Representatives, nineteen of the 38 seats in the Kentucky State Senate, all 100 seats in the Kentucky House of Representatives, and one of the seven seats on the Kentucky Supreme Court were contested. Numerous county and local elections were also contested within the state.
Ken Fleming is an American politician and Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from Kentucky's 48th House district. His district comprises parts of Jefferson and Oldham counties. Fleming was previously a member of the Louisville Metro Council from 2003 to 2015 and the House from 2017 to 2019.
Thomas Huff is an American politician and Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from Kentucky's 49th House district. His district comprises part of Bullitt County. He assumed office in January 2019.
