Lines of Color is a live tribute album by the Gil Evans Project which is led by Ryan Truesdell. [4] [5] It was recorded in concert at the Jazz Standard in New York in May 2014. [1] It earned the group a 58th Annual Grammy Awards nomination for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album. [6]

With the almost identical repertoire of recorded songs –though in another order– and following Evans' original scores it is a celebratory re-recording of their previous collaboration from 30 years ago for Merrill's album Dream of You, released in 1957 also on EmArcy.
