Linus Malmqvist (born September 9, 1981), is a former Swedish football player, who played ten seasons for Landskrona BoIS and three seasons for Trelleborgs FF between the years 2001 and 2013. [1]

Landskrona BoIS

Malmqvist began his career in the Landskrona club BK Fram and joined Landskrona BoIS in 1999. He made his professional debut for Landskrona in a match in Superettan 2001, same year as BoIS became runners-up and was promoted to Allsvenskan again. The following three years in Allsvenskan Malmqvist played a total of 16 matches. To play some more matches, Malmqvist went on loan to the recently relegated Allsvenskan team Trelleborgs FF. [2]

Trelleborgs FF

Despite only two games played from start during 2005 Malmqvist stayed in Trelleborg after his loan period had expired. [3] The same year Trelleborg won Superettan, with Linus Malmqvist playing 29 matches from start. [4] Trelleborg succeeded to avoid regulation in Allsvenskan 2007 and Malmqvist played 22 matchets, including the away game against IFK Gothenburg on Nya Ullevi where a crowd of 41,471 witnessed Gothenburg becoming Swedish champions. Landskrona BoIS

Malmqvist returned to Landskrona in 2008, as a part of the campaign to reach Allsvenskan under the new coach Anders Linderoth. [6] Malmqvist pretty soon became the club's captain. BoIS, however, came in eleventh place in 2008, and the following season in Superettan the team came in eighth place, which resulted in the sacking of coach Linderoth. A decision Malmqvist thought was good. [7] The following three years BoIS were coached by Henrik Larsson and Malmqvist continued in 2010 and 2011 in his role as a regular central defender and team captain. In autumn 2011, he was however injured, which made him absent in much of the 2012 season. Superettan 2013 became Linus Malmqvist last season as a player in Landskrona BoIS, after having had constant pain in the right ankle and lower leg for two years. Malmqvist played 168 league matches and scored 3 goals in total for Landskrona BoIS. [8]

The captain this season was Linus Malmqvist, with Fredrik Svanbäck as vice captain.

The 2014 season was the 117th season of competitive football in Sweden. The competitive started with the group stage of Svenska Cupen on 1 March. League competition started late March and early April with Allsvenskan on 30 March, Superettan on 6 April, Damallsvenskan on 13 April and Division 1 on 20 April. Svenska Cupen ended with the final on 18 May. Damallsvenskan ended on 19 October, Allsvenskan and Division 1 ended on 1 November, Superettan one day later on 2 November and lower men's leagues on the weekend before. Qualification play-offs were held after the end of league play with the Allsvenskan and Superettan play-offs being held on 6 and 9 November. Svenska Supercupen was held on 9 November and was contested by the winner of Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen. Sweden participated in qualifying for the UEFA Euro 2016.

Sonny Johansson is a former Swedish football player, who between 1968 and 1984 represented Landskrona BoIS. He played in Allsvenskan during ten seasons, 1971 until 1980. Even though he never won the top scorer competition in any single year during the 1970s, he scored more goals than any other Allsvenskan player during the entire decade. Other achievements for his club included the promotion to Allsvenskan in 1970, winning the Swedish Cup final 1972 and two Allsvenskan bronze medals for the 1975 and 1976 seasons. He also played 3 caps for the Swedish national team, and scored one goal. There were voices that suggested that he would have represented Sweden at many more occasions if it was not for the Swedish national manager of the time, Georg "Åby" Ericson. The supporters of Landskrona BoIS gave him the nickname "Kung Sune, vår vän". In English "King Sune, our friend". Sonny Johansson played 638 games for the club and scored 310 goals.
