Lionel Nallet (born 14 September 1976) is a former French rugby union player. He played as a lock and is a former captain of the France national team. He began his professional career with CS Bourgoin-Jallieu, playing there from 1998 to 2003 before moving to Castres Olympique. Nallet moved from there to Racing in 2009 before finishing his career with Lyon OU between 2012 and 2015.
Nallet made his international debut for France on 28 May 2000 in a test match against Romania at Bucharest's Dinamo Stadium. France won the match 67–20, with Nallet scoring a try on debut. He next played for his country the following year, in a match against England during the 2001 Six Nations Championship. Nallet made another five appearances for France that year, playing in test matches against the South Africa, the New Zealand, Australia and Fiji.
In 2003 Nallet played in matches against Argentina and New Zealand. However, he was not included in the squad for the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia or in 2004. He played four times for France during November 2005. He was a part of France's 2006 Six Nations Championship victory and was subsequently included in the national squad for the mid-year tests against Romania and the Springboks.
In 2008, following the retirement of Raphaël Ibañez, he was named as captain of the French side.
On 30 April 2009, it was announced that Nallet had signed a 3-year contract with Racing Métro, who were promoted from the Pro D2 to the Top 14 after the club won the 2008–09 Championship. He was joined at the club by the iconic Sébastien Chabal, who also signed a 3-year contract with the club. [2]

Juan Martín Hernández is an Argentine retired rugby union player. A mainstay of the Argentina national team The Pumas. He played for the club Toulon in the French Top 14 competition. His 2010 move to Racing brought him back to the city where he had begun his professional career in 2003 with Stade Français. He has also played in the South African Currie Cup with the Sharks, and was slated to play with the Sharks in Super Rugby in 2010, but suffered a back injury that knocked him out of the Super Rugby season. Hernández is a "utility back" capable of playing at fly-half, centre, or fullback, though he generally prefers fly-half.
Thierry Dusautoir is a French former rugby union player who last played for France at international level and Toulouse in the French Top 14 club competition. Dusautoir was considered a strong ball carrier and possessed incredibly powerful and effective tackling. He broke the record for most tackles in a match, making 38 tackles against the All Blacks in the 2007 World Cup. He was considered one of, if not the best tackler in the world.

Alexander James "Ali" Williams is a New Zealand rugby union player who played at lock, spending almost all of his playing career in his homeland. At provincial level, he played mainly with Auckland, though he spent one season with Tasman and was also loaned out to Nottingham in England's second-level RFU Championship in 2010. At Super Rugby level, he played for both the Blues and Crusaders. Williams played for New Zealand's national team, the All Blacks, between 2002 and 2012. He was in the All Blacks' squad for the 2003, 2007 and 2011 World Cups. In 2005, NZ Rugby Almanack chose him as one of its five players of the year. Williams spent what were to have been the final two seasons of his career in France with Toulon, playing there from 2013 to 2015. He came out of retirement to play in the 2016/17 season for top French club Racing 92. On 25 February 2017 Williams was arrested in Paris for allegedly buying cocaine.
Racing 92 is a French professional rugby union club based in suburban Paris that was formed in 2001 with the collaboration of the Racing Club de France and US Métro. They were called Racing Métro 92 between 2001 and 2015, when they changed the name to Racing 92. "92" is the number of Hauts-de-Seine, a département of Île-de-France, bordering Paris to the west, where they play, and whose council gives financial backing to the club. They currently play in the Top 14, having been promoted as 2008–09 champions of Rugby Pro D2. After starting the 2017–18 season at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir stadium at Colombes, where the France national team played for several decades, Racing played their first match at the new U Arena, since renamed Paris La Défense Arena, in Nanterre on 22 December 2017.

Mamuka Gorgodze is a Georgian former rugby union player, who played in the top French professional rugby competition, the Top 14. He played for Toulon, having signed with the club in 2014 after having played for Montpellier since 2005. His usual position is flanker or number eight, but he played his early career as a lock. Gorgodze played for the Georgia national rugby union team in 71 matches, including 13 as a captain. He appeared for the Georgia national team in three World Cups in 2007, 2011, and 2015. In May 2017, he announced his retirement from the national team. In 2019 he returned to the national team for the World Cup in Japan.

This was the sides' first encounter since they met in the 2011 Rugby World Cup Final, which New Zealand won 8–7. It was France's first test series against the All Blacks since their 2009 two-test tour of New Zealand, which ended in a 1–1 draw.
