Liquicity is a Dutch liquid drum and bass record label, YouTube channel and events promoter, run by Maris Goudzwaard and Mark van der Schoot (better known by his stage name Maduk) since 2011. [1]
Maris Goudzwaard created his Liquicity YouTube channel in 2008, with the idea of starting an entirely new subculture within Drum & Bass. He curated a particular type of drum and bass music that had previously not been labeled, and by doing so gave shape to a worldwide music community. The channel quickly attracted fans –who would become known as "Liquicitizens"– with the same musical taste, and artists from the same genre featured on the channel gradually formed a close group. [1]
In the summer of 2011, Goudzwaard heard Maduk's first track, "Avalon", and successfully contacted him to promote it on the Liquicity channel. [3] The cooperation between the two evolved into a team, and Liquicity Records was established as a label a few months later. [1] Since 2012, Maduk has recorded yearly mixes of the most frequently played songs by their label. In January 2013, they founded a new company for Liquicity events and label matters. [2] Through the combination of music promotion, record label and events, the duo's hobby grew out to a full-time job. [1]
In March 2013, the first small Liquicity event was held in Ruigoord near Amsterdam. Attracting liquid fans from across Europe, the sold-out event was a success. [2] Several more events took place in Amsterdam and Antwerp, and in January 2015, Liquicity expanded to London. [1] The first full-day Liquicity Festival was held on 26 July 2015 in Diemen forest near Amsterdam. [4] According to Het Parool in 2016, video footage from the Liquicity Festival was viewed 185 million times on YouTube. [5] Winter festivals were held in 2015 (Amsterdam), 2016 (Amsterdam and London) and in 2017 (Amsterdam), other Liquicity events in Cologne, Bratislava and Prague. The Liquicity Festival 2017 in Noord-Scharwoude has been the first to last a whole weekend. [6] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both the 2020 and 2021 edition were postponed to 2022. [7]
Most of the musicians promoted by Liquicity are British, Belgian or Dutch, the majority of remainder being other Europeans.

While it uses similar basslines and bar layouts to other styles, it contains fewer bar-oriented samples and more instrumental layers, harmonies, melodies and ambiance, producing a sentimental atmosphere directed at home listeners as well as nightclub and rave audiences. Music genres such as jazz, soul and sometimes blues have a pivotal influence on liquid funk.
Hospital Records is a British independent record label based in South London. Primarily releasing drum and bass, the label was started in 1996 by Tony Colman and Chris Goss and has grown in recent years to become one of the most well-known labels within UK dance music. The label has been home to artists including Blame, Danny Byrd, Camo & Krooked, Logistics, Nu:Tone, Urbandawn, Metrik, Fred V & Grafix, High Contrast, and S.P.Y and releases music from across the DnB genre. In Forest Hill, South London, Hospital runs the publishing company Songs in the Key of Knife and their worldwide events brand, Hospitality. Until the end of 2019, they also ran the more experimental label Med School Music.
Johnny Jordaan was the pseudonym for Johannes Hendricus van Musscher, a Dutch singer of popular music, in particular the genre known as levenslied, a Dutch variety of the French chanson. He was well known for his songs about the city of Amsterdam, especially the Jordaan district, which he sang in a typical "hiccuping Mokum vibrato", "Mokum" being the Hebrew-derived nickname for the Amsterdam inner city area. In the 1950s, Johnny Jordaan rose almost instantly to the level of national celebrity and became the "uncrowned king of the Jordaanlied", and his hit song "Geef mij maar Amsterdam" is one of the songs Amsterdammers identify with most.
Pendulum is an Australian electronic rock band founded in 2002. Pendulum originally formed in the city of Perth, Western Australia, by Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. The band was later expanded to include members Ben Mount, Peredur ap Gwynedd and KJ Sawka. The group is notable for its distinctive sound, mixing electronic music with hard rock and covering a wide range of genres.

Boyce Avenue is an American cover band formed in Sarasota, Florida, by brothers Alejandro Luis Manzano, Daniel Enrique Manzano, and Fabian Rafael Manzano. Boyce Avenue releases original music as well as covers of contemporary and classic songs. The band is named after a combination of two streets the brothers lived on as children. As of August 9, 2011, they are no longer signed to Universal Republic Records and have started their own independent record label called 3 Peace Records.

The station consists of two station halls with two entrances each. The 155-metre-long (509 ft) island platform is between the two halls. The station was renovated in 2010 and 2018.

He released his first album Never Give Up at Hospital Records on 29 April 2016. Together with Maris Goudzwaard, he founded Liquicity.

We Are Here is a collective of migrants based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which campaigns for human rights for its members and all undocumented migrants. The asylum seekers have in many cases had their applications to remain in the Netherlands denied but they either cannot go back or refuse to return to their country of origin. They demand access to social services such as medical care and housing. The group formed in 2012 and by 2015 contained over 200 migrants from around 15 countries.
