Lisa McClendon (born Edletha Lorraine Peoples; October 17, 1975) is an American jazz-gospel-soul artist. She started her music career, in 2002, with the release of My Diary, Your Life by Shabach Entertainment. Her second album, Soul Music, released in 2003 by Epic Records and Integrity Gospel. This would be her Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums chart. The third album, Live from the House of Blues, was released in 2006 by Columbia Records alongside Epic Records and Integrity Gospel. The album would chart again, but this time around on the Heatseekers Albums chart as well. She would release an independent album on Blusoul Records in 2009, Reality, and this charted on the Gospel Albums chart. In 2015, she released the long-awaited album 5AM, The Sound of Waking up to Him.

Early life

McClendon was born on October 17, 1975, [1] in Palatka, Florida, [1] [2] as Edletha Lorraine Peoples. [1] She is the daughter of a preacher, and she started singing in her church at 12 years of age. [3]

Music career

Her music career started in 2002, with the release of My Diary, Your Life by Shabach Entertainment on May 7, 2002, [4] yet the album failed to chart. [5]

The second album, Soul Music, released on September 23, 2003 by Epic Records alongside Integrity Gospel. [4] This was her breakthrough album on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart at No. 20. [5] She released her third album, Live from the House of Blues, with Epic Records and Integrity Gospel and this time with Columbia Records in the fold, on January 31, 2006. [4] The album placed on the Gospel Albums at No. 17, while it also charted on the Heatseekers Albums at No. 47. [5] Her next album, Reality, was released on April 28, 2009 by Blusoul Records, [4] and this charted on the Gospel Albums at No. 20. [5] Her first album was rated a perfect ten by Cross Rhythms magazine, while Soul Music and Live from the House of Blues were rated nine out of ten. [6]

McClendon recently expanded her music into jazz where she is now reaching a broader audience with her unique vintage sound. She has shared the stage with Chrisette Michelle, Lela James, Fred Hammond, Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams and Ledisi. She has also headlined tours throughout the US and Europe.[ citation needed ]

The Soul Seekers is an American gospel music group signed to RCA Inspiration, through their affiliation with GospoCentric Records. The group consist of ten members, who are the following; Charlie Bereal, Craig Brockman, Johnteris Tate, Warryn Campbell, Teddy Campbell, Gerald Haddon, Eric Seats, John "Jubu" Smith, Chris Payton, the and Nisan Stewart. In September 2000, the group started with a performance at Stewart's fathers church in Los Angeles that's Greater Emmanuel Temple Church. The first album came out in 2005, with GospoCentric and My Block Records, The Soul Seekers, and this would chart on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. Their follow-up album released in 2010, Soul Seekers II, which charted on the aforementioned chart, along with the Heatseekers Albums chart.

William Henry Murphy III is an American gospel recording artist and pastor. He started his music career in 2005, with the release of All Day on Epic Records. This album was listed on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. His second album, The Sound, was released in 2007 on Central South, and was listed on the Top Gospel Albums chart as well. He self-released We Are One in 2011. This album was listed on the Top Gospel Albums chart, along with the Heatseekers Albums chart. His fourth album, God Chaser, was released in 2013 on Verity. The album reached the Gospel Albums chart, as well as the Billboard 200. Murphy is pastor of the dReam Center Church of Atlanta, which he founded.

William David McDowell is an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 2009, with the release of, As We Worship, by Entertainment One Music. This album would chart on three Billboard charts Gospel Albums, Independent Albums and Heatseekers Albums. His second album, Arise, was released in 2011 with Entertainment One. The album charted three Billboard charts again, this time The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums and Independent Albums. His third album, Withholding Nothing, was released in 2013, with Entertainment One. This album would chart on three charts The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums, and Independent Albums. He was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album, for his third album.

Darlene Jenise "McCoy" Johnson-Jackson, is an American gospel singer, songwriter, author, radio personality, and Christian R&B recording artist. She started her music career, in 2005, with the release of Fallen in Love single by EMI Gospel. She would release a precursor extended play, in 2007's Fallen in Love, again with EMI Gospel. This will lead into the release of Darlene McCoy later on that year. This album was her breakthrough release on the Billboard magazine charts, which it placed on the Gospel Albums chart. She is the First African American Female to host a nightly syndicated radio show, as she is the host of Nightly Spirit under Reach Media Inc.

Natalie Wilson, is an American gospel musician and artist. She started her music career, in 2000, with the release of Girl Director by Interscope Records. This would be her Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums and the R&B Albums charts. Her second album, Good Life, was released in 2003 by GospoCentric. The album would chart again on the two aforementioned charts.

Clarence E. McClendon is an American gospel musician, who is the pastor of Full Harvest International Church located in Los Angeles, California, and is the director of Harvest Fire Mega Mass Choir. He started his music career in 2000, with the release of Shout Hallelujah, by Integrity Music. This album would chart on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart.

Kelli Evon Williams-Malcolm is an American gospel musician. Her first album, Kelli Williams, was released by Sony Music Entertainment in 1995. The subsequent album, I Get Lifted, was released in 1998 by Word Records in association with Epic Records, and this was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums chart. She released, In the Myx, with the Word Records in tandem with Epic Records in 2000.

LaShell Renee Griffin is an American gospel musician. Her first album, Free, was released by Epic Records in 2004. This was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon four charts, The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums, R&B Albums, and Heatseekers Albums. She released two more subsequent albums, but they have not placed on any charts.

Monica Lisa Stevenson is an American gospel musician. Her first album, Finally...in God's Time, was released by Monicazmuzik in 2009. The subsequent album, Live in Atlanta, was released in 2013 by Central South Records. This was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release on the Gospel Albums chart and Heatseekers Albums chart. She was nominated at the 2009 Stellar Awards in two categories.
