Mikayil Huseyn oglu Abdullayev was a Soviet and Azerbaijani painter. He was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the USSR (1963), and People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1963). Abdullayev created a series of paintings entitled Through India.

Göyəlli is a village and municipality in the Gadabay Rayon of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 1,393.

Dağlı is a village and municipality in the Zaqatala Rayon of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 2,770. The postal code is AZ 6220. The municipality consists of the villages of Ali Bayramli, Qalal, and Qarqay.

Sərək is a village and municipality in the Astara Rayon of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 1,603.

Ağdam is a village and municipality in the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 1,155.

Samir Ramiz oghlu Abbasov is a retired Azerbaijani football defender, and current manager of Sumgait.

Qaraqaşlı is a village and municipality in the Neftchala Rayon of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 2,469. The municipality consists of the villages of Qaraqaşlı, Beştalı, and Şorkənd.

Asif Maharammov, commonly known as Fred Asif, was an Azerbaijani Lieutenant colonel and National Hero of Azerbaijan.

Fuad Hasan oglu Abdurahmanov was a popular Azerbaijani monument sculptor. He received many awards, including: Honored Worker of Arts of the Azerbaijan SSR (1943), People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1955), the first Azerbaijani to become a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1949), and Laureate of the State Stalin Prize two times.

Mubariz Aghakerim oğlu Ibrahimov was an Azerbaijani Warrant Officer and National Hero of Azerbaijan.

Tokay Habib oglu Mammadov was the eminent sculptor-monumentalist of Azerbaijan, People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1973), corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1975), Honored Arts Worker of the Azerbaijan SSR (1962), Professor (1977). In 1970-1972's he was a chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan and was the corresponding member of Russian Academy of Arts.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Azerbaijan Chess Federation</span>

The Azerbaijan Chess Federation is the governing chess organization in Azerbaijan and is affiliated to the World Chess Federation FIDE. The Azerbaijan Chess Federation was founded in 1920 when Azerbaijan became a member of the Soviet Union as the Azerbaijan SSR the same year, and was reorganized in 1992, after Azerbaijan attained its independence with the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and became a member of FIDE the same year. Its headquarters are in Baku.

Azerbaijanis in Turkmenistan are part of the Azerbaijani diaspora. They are Turkmen citizens and permanent residents of ethnic Azerbaijani background. Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan used to be part of the Russian Empire and later the Soviet Union. As of 1989, there were 33,365 Azerbaijanis in Turkmenistan.

Khalil Mammad oglu Mammadov was an Azerbaijani Militsiya Major general, Hero of the Soviet Union, and Minister of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan SSR. Mammadov fought in World War II, eventually becoming a tank battalion commander. He was awarded the title for his actions during the Second Jassy–Kishinev offensive, in which the battalion captured Roman. He retired from the Army postwar with the rank of Major. Mammadov worked in the Azerbaijan SSR Ministry of Internal Affairs and became a Militsiya Major general. Between 1960 and 1965 he served as Minister of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan.

Mehman Sayadov was the National Hero of Azerbaijan, and the warrior of the Karabakh war.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Suleyman Rahimov</span>

Suleyman Huseyn oglu Rahimov was an Azerbaijani and Soviet writer, novelist, prosaist and politician. He was member and chairman of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers. Suleyman Rahimov was a prominent representative of the modern Azerbaijani literature. His creativity is closely linked to a great development period of the Azerbaijani prose. Rahimov's novels are among the noteworthy works of this genre. These novels are characteristic of covering epochal incidents, such as emotionalism, realism, psychology, and craftsmanship from the local folklore.
