Bangladesh national cricket team national sports team

The Bangladesh men's national cricket team, popularly known as, is administered by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). It is a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test and One-Day International (ODI) status. It played its first Test match in November 2000 against India in Dhaka, becoming the tenth Test-playing nation.

One Day International Form of limited overs cricket, 50-over format

A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, usually 50. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited overs competition.

Wicket-keeper fielding position in cricket

The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and be ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion. The wicket-keeper is the only member of the fielding side permitted to wear gloves and external leg guards. The role of the keeper is governed by Law 27 of the Laws of Cricket.

Intikhab Alam Khan is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 47 Tests and 4 ODIs from 1959 to 1977. He captained Pakistan in 17 Tests between 1969 and 1975. He also played in English county cricket for Surrey between 1969 and 1981. Prior to this Intikhab was professional for several years at West of Scotland Cricket Club in Glasgow and also coached at The Glasgow Academy. In August 1967, at the Oval, he joined Asif Iqbal for a ninth wicket stand of 190 runs. This remained as a World record for around 30 years.

Stumped

Stumped is a method of dismissing a batsman in cricket. The action of stumping can only be performed by a wicket-keeper. A batsman is stumped if, from a legitimate delivery, the wicket-keeper puts down the wicket, while the batsman is out of his ground and not attempting a run.

Jahangir Alam is a former Bangladeshi cricketer who played in 3 ODIs from 1997 to 1999. An opening batsman who could keep wickets if necessary, Jahangir Alam was ideally suited for one day cricket. Unfortunately for Bangladesh, though enormously successful in domestic arena, he failed to perform up to expectation at the international level.

The ACC Trophy was a limited-overs cricket tournament organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Open only to associate and affiliate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), it was contested biennially between 1996 and 2012, but has been replaced by the three-division ACC Premier League as the primary limited-overs competition for non-Test-playing ACC members. The finalists of the 2000 and 2006 tournaments qualified for the Asia Cup, where matches had One Day International (ODI) status.

Fawad Alam Pakistani cricketer

Fawad Tariq Alam is a Pakistani cricketer and actor. He belongs to Karachi and is primarily a left-handed batsman but bowls handy slow left-arm orthodox. He played only 3 test matches wherein he scored 250 runs with an average of 41.66 Alam is a late middle order batsman in domestic cricket but in all 3 test matches he played as an opener and Number 3 batsman.

The 2nd SAARC cricket tournament was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh in December 1994. Teams from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka participated in the tournament. Bangladesh, still an associate member of the ICC, played their full strength national side, while their neighbors sent their 'A' teams for the tournament. India won the cup after beating Bangladesh in the final. All the matches were 50 overs affair.

The First South-East Asian Cricket Tournament was held in Dhaka in January 1984. Two teams from the host country were joined by teams from Singapore and Hong Kong. The Bangladesh national team won the trophy, and thus qualified for the 1986 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.

The Pakistan national cricket team toured India in the winter of 1960–61. They played five Test matches against the India national cricket team, and also played against several local Indian squads.

In March 1983, the West Bengal side from India came to Dhaka, for a short tour. The side was led by Dilip Doshi. The visitors convincingly won both their matches.

The 1996 Pepsi Sharjah Cup was a triangular ODI cricket competition held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates from 12 to 19 April 1996. It featured the national cricket teams of South Africa, Pakistan and India. Its official sponsor was Pepsi. The tournament was won by South Africa, which defeated India in the final.
