The 2001 ICC Trophy was a cricket tournament played in Ontario, Canada in 2001. It was the qualifying tournament for the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Three spots in the World Cup were on offer and the Netherlands, host nation Canada and for the first time, Namibia all qualified. Scotland failed to qualify losing in the 3rd place play off and finishing fourth. The Netherlands won the final against Namibia.

In July 2018, he announced that he would retire from international cricket after the conclusion of Netherlands tour. In August 2018, he retired after playing the first ODI of the tour. In December 2018, he retired from all forms of cricket.

Amjad Ali is a United Arab Emirates cricketer. A left-handed batsman, right-arm medium pace bowler and wicket-keeper, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team in 2008. He previously played first-class cricket for Lahore Blues in Pakistan, and has also played first-class cricket for the UAE in the ICC Intercontinental Cup.
Noor Ali Zadran is an Afghan cricketer. Ali is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who currently plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. The 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that took place during March 2018 in Zimbabwe. It decided the final qualification for the 2019 World Cup, to be played in England and Wales. The top two teams, Afghanistan and the West Indies, qualified for the World Cup, joining the hosts and the seven teams who had already qualified through their ranking in the ICC ODI Championship. Afghanistan won the tournament, beating the West Indies by 7 wickets in the final. Afghanistan's Mohammad Shahzad was named the player of the match and Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza was named the player of the tournament.
Hasan Ali is a Pakistani cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Sialkot in October 2013. He made his international debut for Pakistan in August 2016 in a One Day International (ODI) match. The following summer, he was named in Pakistan's squad for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan went on to win the tournament with Ali named player of the series after taking thirteen wickets. He became the quickest bowler for Pakistan to take 50 wickets in ODIs.
