The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. The wicket-keeper is the only member of the fielding side permitted to wear gloves and external leg guards. The role of the keeper is governed by Law 27 of the Laws of Cricket.
Parthiv Ajay Patel is an Indian cricketer, wicketkeeper-batsman, and a member of the Indian national cricket team. He is a left-handed batsman. He plays for Gujarat in domestic cricket.
Mark Verdon Boucher is a South African cricket coach and former cricketer who played all three formats of the game. Boucher is regarded as one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen of all time. He holds the record for the most Test dismissals by a wicket-keeper, with 532 catches and 555 total dismissals.
Alec James Stewart is an English former cricketer, and former captain of the England cricket team, who played Test cricket and One Day Internationals as a right-handed wicket-keeper-batsman. He is the fourth most capped English cricketer of all time in Test matches and 3rd most capped in One Day Internationals (ODIs), having played in 133 Tests and 170 ODIs.
Ian Andrew Healy AO is an Australian former international cricketer who played for Queensland domestically. A specialist wicketkeeper and useful right-hand middle-order batsman, he made an unheralded entry to international cricket in 1988, after only six first-class games. His work ethic and combativeness was much needed by an Australian team. Over the next decade, Healy was a key member of the side as it enjoyed a sustained period of success. By the time of his retirement, Healy held the world record for most Test dismissals by a wicket-keeper.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is a former Indian international cricketer who captained the Indian national team in limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2016 and in Test cricket from 2008 to 2014. Under his captaincy, India won the inaugural 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. A right-handed explosive middle-order batsman and wicket-keeper, Dhoni is one of the highest run scorers in One Day Internationals (ODIs) with more than 10,000 runs scored and is considered an effective "finisher" in limited-overs formats. He is widely regarded as one of the best wicket-keeper batsman and captain in the history of the game. He was also the first wicket-keeper to effect 100 stumpings in ODI cricket.

He also became the Assistant Head Coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad in Indian Premier League 2020.
Matthew James Prior is a South African-born English former cricketer, who played for England in Test cricket and for Sussex County Cricket Club in domestic cricket. He was a wicket-keeper and his aggressive right-handed batting enabled him to open the innings in ODI matches, even when he made very limited appearance in shorter forms of the game. With an international Test debut score of 126, Prior became the first English wicket-keeper to hit a century in his debut match in early 2007. His glovework, however, was criticised. Despite a successful tour of Sri Lanka with the bat, Prior's keeping was less successful, and he was dropped from the team for the 2008 tour of New Zealand. He returned for the 2008 series against South Africa, and was retained into 2009, where he became the second-fastest England keeper to reach 1,000 Test runs, behind Les Ames. He retired in June 2015 from all forms of professional cricket due to a recurring Achilles tendon injury.
David Charles Nash is a retired English cricketer.
Clifton James "Jack" Richards is an English former first-class cricketer, who played in eight Tests and 22 ODIs for England from 1981 to 1988. He was a wicket-keeper and a useful lower-middle order batsman, who made 133 for England against Australia at the WACA, Perth in 1987.
Paul Garrod Dixey is a former English professional cricketer. He played County Cricket as a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper.
Jonathan Marc Bairstow is an English cricketer, who plays internationally for England and domestically for Yorkshire. Bairstow was part of the England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup. A right-hand batsman, he is the only England wicket-keeper to twice claim nine dismissals in a Test match, against South Africa in January 2016, and against Sri Lanka in May 2016. Only Jack Russell, and Bob Taylor have claimed more in a single Test match.
Joseph Charles Buttler is an English international cricketer who is currently vice-captain of the England cricket team in limited overs cricket. A right-handed batsman, he usually fields as a wicket-keeper and has represented England in Test, One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket. He served as vice-captain of the England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup, becoming world champions for the first time in their history. He currently plays for Lancashire in English domestic cricket having previously played for Somerset. He also plays for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Buttler holds the record for the fastest ODI century by an England player and is regarded as one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen in the world. Buttler's ability to recognise and manipulate field placements of opposing teams and score all around the ground has seen him labelled as a "360-degree" cricketer.
