Geraint Owen Jones is a former cricketer who played for both England and Papua New Guinea. Born to Welsh parents in Papua New Guinea,between 2004 and 2006 he was the first-choice wicketkeeper for the England cricket team. He later played international cricket for Papua New Guinea from 2012 to 2014. He announced his retirement from first-class cricket in July 2015 following his resignation as the first-class cricket captain of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club.
Arthur Shrewsbury was an English cricketer and rugby football administrator. He was widely rated as competing with W. G. Grace for the accolade of best batsman of the 1880s;Grace himself,when asked whom he would most like in his side,replied simply,"Give me Arthur". An opening batsman,Shrewsbury played his cricket for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and played 23 Test matches for England,captaining them in 7 games,with a record of won 5,lost 2. He was the last professional to be England captain until Len Hutton was chosen in 1952. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1890. He also organised the first British Isles rugby tour to Australasia in 1888.
Donald Tallon was an Australian cricketer who played 21 Test matches as a wicket-keeper between 1946 and 1953. He was widely regarded by his contemporaries as Australia's finest ever wicket-keeper and one of the best in Test history,with an understated style,an ability to anticipate the flight,length and spin of the ball and an efficient stumping technique. Tallon toured England as part of Don Bradman's Invincibles of 1948 and was recognised as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1949 for his performances during that season. During his Test career,Tallon made 58 dismissals comprising 50 catches and 8 stumpings.
Robert William Taylor MBE is an English former cricketer who played as wicket-keeper for Derbyshire between 1961 and 1984 and for England between 1971 and 1984. He made 57 Test,and 639 first-class cricket appearances in total,taking 1,473 catches. The 2,069 victims across his entire career is the most of any wicket-keeper in first-class history. He is considered one of the world's most accomplished wicket-keepers. He made his first-class debut for Minor Counties against South Africa in 1960,having made his Staffordshire debut in 1958. He became Derbyshire's first choice wicket-keeper when George Dawkes sustained a career-ending injury. His final First Class appearance was at the Scarborough Festival in 1988. He remained first choice until his retirement except for a short period in 1964 when Laurie Johnson was tried as a batsman-wicketkeeper.
Steven Michael Davies is a retired English first-class cricketer,a left-handed batsman who last played for Somerset. He batted in the middle order in first-class cricket and openeds in limited-overs. He started as a wicket-keeper,playing ODI and Twenty20 cricket in this role for England and has stated a desire to return to this position.

Matthew James Prior is a South African-born English former cricketer,who played for England in Test cricket and for Sussex County Cricket Club in domestic cricket. He was a wicket-keeper and his aggressive right-handed batting enabled him to open the innings in ODI matches,even though he made very limited appearances in shorter forms of the game. With an international Test debut score of 126,Prior became the first English wicket-keeper to hit a century in his debut match in early 2007. His glovework,however,was criticised. Despite a successful tour of Sri Lanka with the bat,Prior's keeping was less successful,and he was dropped from the team for the 2008 tour of New Zealand. He returned for the 2008 series against South Africa,and was retained into 2009,where he became the second-fastest England keeper to reach 1,000 Test runs,behind Les Ames. He retired in June 2015 from all forms of professional cricket due to a recurring Achilles tendon injury.
Bradley-John Watling,known as BJ Watling,is a South African-born former New Zealand international cricketer who has represented Northern Districts since December 2004. He made his Test debut in December 2009 and eight months later played his first One Day International. In 2012,Watling assumed the role of wicket-keeper in Tests.
Donald Vincent Brennan was an English cricketer,who played in two Tests in 1951. For his county Yorkshire he was their regular wicket-keeper between 1947 and 1953,taking a total of 380 dismissals in those seven seasons. A poor batsman,he averaged 10.52 in first-class cricket with only a single fifty in 232 appearances. Cricket correspondent,Colin Bateman,noted after Brennan had replaced Godfrey Evans in the England cricket team,that "there can be few higher tributes to his 'keeping skills than that".

After an absence of 2+1⁄2 years,he returned to the ODI side in 2011 and made his Twenty20 International debut,before becoming the 651st player to represent England at Test cricket by winning his first cap on the tour of Sri Lanka in 2012.
Sri Lanka toured England for cricket matches during the 2006 international cricket season. England were back home for the first time since September and looked to maintain their Test standards,which saw them keep their second place in the ICC Test Championship in India,and the teams were also competing for sixth place in the ICC ODI Championship as both England and Sri Lanka were coming off the back of two lost ODI tours on the Asian sub-continent,against India and Pakistan respectively. To add to problems,both teams were likely to be missing some key members of the team as England were without some of their squad for their previous tour and,two days before Sri Lanka departed for England,it was revealed that skipper Marvan Atapattu would stay at home for the tour due to back problems that had forced him to skip his previous tour too. Jehan Mubarak was brought in as his replacement.

In 2008,the ICC controversially declared the result of the final Test as a draw,altering the scoreline to 2–0;however,after criticism,not least by the MCC,this was subsequently reversed in February 2009 and the result restored as an England victory.

In domestic cricket he represents Lancashire,having previously played for Somerset,and has played in multiple Twenty20 leagues,including for Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Buttler is known for his highly innovative and aggressive batting style,especially in limited over cricket. He was part of the England team that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Under his captaincy England won the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup.

He made his Twenty20 International debut for Australia against South Africa on 4 March 2016. He retired in April 2022.

He was the captain of the Greater Western Sydney Giants in 2010,but when they joined the Australian Football League in 2012,he was left out of the squad and returned to his home state of South Australia,where he began to play domestic cricket.
