Blood-C is an anime television series which aired for 12 episodes between July 8 and September 30, 2011. [1] [2] The third project in the Blood franchise, the series follows Saya Kisaragi as she fights monsters called the Elder Bairns. [3] It was directed by Tsutomu Mizushima and produced by Production I.G. The characters were designed by manga artist group Clamp, while Kazuchika Kise handled the animation character design and Takayuki Goto was the chief animation director for the series. All episodes were co-written by Clamp member Nanase Ohkawa and Blood+ director Junichi Fujisaku. [3]
Blood-C premiered on a late night slot on MBS and TBS. [4] It was livestreamed simultaneously in North America, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa through the Western branch of Niconico. [5] [6] [7] Other channels that showed Blood-C in 2011 were Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting and Kumamoto Asahi Broadcasting's RRK station. [4] [8] Wowow ran a marathon broadcast between September 22 and 29, 2013, followed by its sequel film Blood-C: The Last Dark and the original Blood: The Last Vampire anime film. [9]
The series' home video releases on Blu-ray and DVD were published in Japan by Aniplex. [10] The series released in six volumes between September 28, 2011, and February 22, 2012. [11] The series' English dub and North American licensing was handled by Funimation. [12] A box set containing the whole series released for Blu-ray and DVD on January 22, 2013. [13] In Australia, the series was licensed by Madman Entertainment, releasing as a box set for DVD and Blu-ray on April 17, 2013. Saya struggles against the Spider Elder Bairn as she's immobilized by headaches and flashbacks. Although she kills the Elder Bairn, everyone aside from herself, Itsuki and Kanako have been killed. As Saya struggles w/ the realization of the gaps in her memories, a Skeleton Elder Bairn attacks, killing Shinichirō when he returns to check up on her. After killing the Skeleton Elder Bairn, Saya begins to question her identity before passing out. She's nursed by Fumito, who gives her coffee and guimauve before going to see Tadayoshi. As Tadoyoshi goes off somewhere, Kanako stops by the coffee shop and asks Saya to see some scrolls in her shrine. Kanako reveals that nearly all of Tadoyoshi's books are blank & new. Kanako, Shinichirō, and Nene and Nono reveal themselves to be part of a "main cast" surrounding Saya, playing roles intended to awaken Saya's memories for their own reasons. All the "main cast" members who died are still alive, while the expendable extras are really dead. As they force Saya to drink the blood of the Elder Bairns, which she'd allegedly been drinking whenever she passed out, they reveal she's linked to the Shrovetide, a period in time when Elder Bairns can freely devour humans. As Saya starts to remember things as a result of drinking the blood, a Cerberus Elder Bairn appears and the group's confronted by Itsuki and Yūka, who question their motives for interfering. | |||||

Saya remembers her nature as a Elder Bairn, captured and brainwashed by Fumito, who wishes to free her from an oath not to feed on humans. Saya kills the Cerberus Elder Bairn, the crazed half-Elder Bairn Tadayoshi, and an army of multiplying Bunny Elder Bairns as her friends and the townspeople are killed. As Fumito and Yūka escape in a helicopter, Fumito shoots Saya through the head, revealing to her that the guimauve was made from the blood of Elder Bairns. Now alone, Saya tends to her wound and heads after Fumito, while the dog says her wish to stay herself has been fulfilled and that it is now time for her next wish. |
FLCL is an original video animation (OVA) anime series created and directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, written by Yōji Enokido, and produced by the FLCL Production Committee, which consisted of Gainax, Production I.G, and King Records. FLCL is a story following Naota Nandaba, a twelve-year-old boy whose suburban life is disturbed by the arrival of the mysterious Haruko Haruhara. xxxHolic is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the manga group Clamp. The series, which crosses over with another Clamp work, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, revolves around Kimihiro Watanuki, a high school student who is disturbed by his ability to see the supernatural, and Yūko Ichihara, a powerful witch who owns a wish-granting shop. When Watanuki asks Ichihara to remove his ability to see spirits, she grants it on the condition that he pay for his wish by working for her. Clamp created xxxHolic to link the supernatural and fantasy series.
Blood+ is a Japanese anime television series produced by Production I.G and Aniplex and directed and written by Junichi Fujisaku. The series was broadcast on MBS and TBS from October 2005 to September 2006. Blood+ is licensed for international distribution in several regions through Sony Pictures' international arm, Sony Pictures Television International.
Darker than Black, is a Japanese anime television series created and directed by Tensai Okamura and animated by studio Bones. 25 episodes were broadcast on MBS, TBS and their affiliated stations from April to September 2007. The series is set in a world where a spatial anomaly identified as "Heaven's Gate" appeared in South America and was followed by "Hell's Gate" in Tokyo, altering the sky and wreaking havoc on the landscapes. People with special abilities labeled as Contractors emerged shortly afterwards. The series follows agent Hei and his comrades in the Syndicate organization, operating in an vastly altered version of contemporary Tokyo to uncover the mysteries of Hell's Gate.
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle the Movie: The Princess in the Birdcage Kingdom is a 2005 Japanese animated action fantasy short film based on the Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle manga written and illustrated by manga artist group CLAMP. The short film was directed by Itsuro Kawasaki, co-written by Junichi Fujisaku and Midori Goto, and was produced by Production I.G. The film premiered in Japanese theaters on August 20, 2005 in conjunction with xxxHolic: A Midsummer Night's Dream, another Production I.G animated film and based on CLAMP manga. Set between the two seasons of the anime series Tsubasa by Bee Train, the film continues Syaoran's group's journey to find Sakura's "feathers" (memories) in different worlds. On the journey they arrive at the Country of Birdcages, which contains one of Sakura's feathers.
The third season of the Naruto: Shippuden anime series is directed by Hayato Date, and produced by Studio Pierrot and TV Tokyo. They are based on Part II for Masashi Kishimoto's manga series. The third season aired from April to August 2008 on TV Tokyo. Titled in Japan Twelve Guardian Ninja, the anime only season follows Naruto Uzumaki attempting to protect Asuma Sarutobi's monk named Sora and defeat Team Furido. It is also the first season to be produced in 16:9 widescreen, instead of 4:3, which was the aspect ratio of all previous seasons.

Three months after the death game, Kazuto discovers that Asuna is being held captive in "Alfheim Online" (ALO), a spiritual successor to SAO, where the players assume the roles of fairies. Kazuto enters the game and allies himself with his sister Suguha "Leafa" Kirigaya to rescue Asuna from captivity.
Psycho-Pass is a Japanese anime television series produced by Production I.G, directed by Naoyoshi Shiotani and Katsuyuki Motohiro, and written by Gen Urobuchi. It is set in the near future, when it is possible to instantaneously measure a person's "Psycho-Pass": their mental state, personality, and the probability that they will commit a crime. The series follows Akane Tsunemori, a new member of Unit One of the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Division, and her involvement in the crimes her group investigates.
Kill la Kill is a Japanese anime television series created and produced by Trigger. The series follows vagrant schoolgirl Ryuko Matoi on her search for her father's killer, which brings her into violent conflict with Satsuki Kiryuin, the iron-willed student council president of Honnouji Academy, and her mother Ragyo Kiryuin's fashion empire. Ryuko, Satsuki, and others obtain martial arts superpowers from their clothes, which appear to have a will of their own.
Fullmetal Alchemist is a Japanese anime television series loosely adapted from the original manga series of the same name by Hiromu Arakawa. Produced by Production I.G and distributed by Shochiku, The Last Dark is set six months after the events of Blood-C; in the universe of Blood-C humanity is secretly preyed upon by a race called the Elder Bairns, whose feeding is kept under control by an ancient agreement called Shrovetide. The Last Dark follows Saya Kisaragi as she pursues Fumito Nanahara—the human guardian of Shrovetide who manipulated and betrayed her—through Tokyo with the help of an underground organization called SIRRUT. The film stars Nana Mizuki as the voice of Saya and Kenji Nojima as Fumito, alongside Ai Hashimoto, Hiroshi Kamiya, Yuki Kaji, Yuichi Nakamura, Kana Hanazawa, Yūko Kaida, Masumi Asano, Junichi Suwabe and Jun Fukuyama. The Last Dark was released in Japan on June 2, 2012.

Former manga writer Ukyō Kodachi supervised the story until episode 216.
