  • Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture (New Bell and Bonamoussadi). Cardinal Christian Tumi founded the first MJC (Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture) 18 February 1995 in the neighbourhood of Akwa as a result of the collaboration between the Archidiocèse of Douala and COE (Centro Orientamento Educativo). Throughout the years, the MJCs have become a successful meeting place for the dwellers of Douala, and specifically youths who are involved in trainings and artistic projects. Indeed, the MJC have 350 members with up to 1000 people benefiting each week. New Bell: near la Paroisse Notre Dame de Victoire, Bonamoussadi: near la Paroisse Notre Dame de l’Annonciation. [10]
  • Maison de la Culture Jevais (Bepanda Omnisport). The building is currently under construction. Françoise Colas, coordinator of the Project Jevais (Jeunesse et vie associative pour l’insertion sociale) is responsible of the project. Bepanda Omnisport, Douala, Cameroon. [11]
  • CCF – Centre Culturel français de Douala Blaise Cendrars. Directed by Mangin Benoît, the CCF promotes cultural and artistic events in the city of Douala such as: cinema, conferences, exhibitions, residency programmes, training for youth, prizes, publishing house. 61 bis Bd de la Liberté BP 01 Akwa Douala, Cameroon. artBakery

ArtBakery is an art centre based in the village of Bonendale a few kilometers from Douala and founded by Goddy Leye. The centre offers trainings for emerging artists, journalists and residency programs for young artists (Portfolio). ArtBakery is specifically designed to technically support the production of multimedia artworks, video and digital art.

Pascal Kenfack is a painter and sculptor of international renown. Passionately committed to the revival of art living in Cameroon, he took action by creating a hybrid of a museum and a school in Yaoundé, already a workshop for learning and creation.

The SUD Salon Urbain de Douala is a triennial festival of public art and contemporary art organised in Douala, Cameroon. The festival had its first edition in 2007 and it is promoted by the art centre and cultural organisation doual'art.

Lucas Fotsing Takou, known as LucFosther Diop, is a Cameroonian artist, filmmaker, actor and entrepreneur. As an artist, he is best known for his drawings, collages, performances and films exploring the ongoing repercussions of the western neocolonialism and imperialism within the contemporary context of globalisation.

Lionel Manga, born in Dschang, is a Cameroonian writer and cultural critic based in Douala. His 2008 book, L'Ivresse du Papillon, discusses Cameroonian visual artists such as Goddy Leye, Guy Wouété and Joseph-Francis Sumégné among others.

The Passerelle de Bessengue is an artwork in Douala (Cameroon). It is a wooden bridge with an iron handrail, painted in different colors, each one representing people of different ethnic groups holding hands. It was inaugurated during the Salon Urbain de Douala en 2007.

The Colonne Pascale is a permanent artwork located in the city of Douala (Cameroon). It was created by Pascale Marthine Tayou and inaugurated in 2010.
