Henry Shefflin Kilkenny hurler

Henry Shefflin is an Irish hurling manager and former player who is the current manager of the Galway senior hurling team. In his playing career he was nicknamed "King Henry" because of his playing style, dominance, competitive spirit and leadership on the field. A versatile forward who started out in the corner, Shefflin made his name in more commanding positions as a centre or full-forward. Brian Cody is an Irish former hurling manager and player and retired schoolmaster. He managed the senior Kilkenny county team between 1998 and 2022, becoming the county's longest-serving manager and most successful in terms of major titles won. Cody is regarded as the greatest manager in the history of the game.

Davy Fitzgerald Hurling manager, former Clare goalkeeper

David Dermot Fitzgerald is an Irish hurling manager and former player. He is the current manager of the Waterford Senior Hurling Team. As a player, he is widely considered to be one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation.

Brendan Cummins is an Irish hurler and hurling coach who played as a goalkeeper for the Tipperary senior team.

Dónal O'Grady is an Irish former hurler and manager.

Tommy Naughton is the former manager of the Dublin Senior Hurling team and the former Under 21 hurling manager for Dublin. He had also previously been a selector with the senior hurling team. Naughton had Andy Cunningham, Mick O'Riordan and Damien Byrne as his management team for Dublin.

Declan Ryan is an Irish former hurler and team manager with Tipperary.

Colm Bonnar is an Irish hurling manager and former player. He is the former manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team having served as manager from September 2021 to July 2022.

John Allen is an Irish retired hurler and Gaelic footballer who played as a forward in both codes for the Cork senior teams.

From December 2007 until February 2008, a dispute between the Cork County Board and its Gaelic footballers and hurlers occurred in Ireland. It led to the footballers and hurlers refusing to play for the Cork County Board. The cause of the strike was the issue of deciding who should pick the senior teams' selectors. The players believed the manager should pick the selectors. However, the county board picked the selectors. With the appointment of Teddy Holland as manager, the players also refused to play under his tutorship since he accepted the job during their time of strike.

Pat Heffernan is an Irish hurling selector and former player. He is a former selector with the Limerick senior hurling team. He is currently manager of Mullinahone Senior Hurling team and teaches Geography at the Patrician Academy Mallow Secondary School.

Michael Ryan is an Irish hurling manager and former player. He was the manager of the Tipperary senior team from November 2015 until August 2018.

John McIntyre is an Irish hurling manager and former player. He is the former manager of the Galway senior hurling team.

Anthony Cunningham

Anthony Cunningham is a former hurler who has since managed various Gaelic football and hurling teams. He was manager of the Roscommon county football team between 2018 and 2022. He is the only manager to lead a football team and a hurling team to provincial titles in two different provinces.

Dr. Eamon O'Shea is an Irish retired hurler who played as a right wing-forward for the Tipperary and Dublin senior teams.

Liam Cahill is an Irish hurling manager, former selector and player, he is the current manager of the Tipperary county hurling team having been appointed on 18 July 2022.

The 2011 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 123rd staging of the All-Ireland championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The draw for the 2011 fixtures took place on 7 October 2010. The championship began on 14 May and ended on 4 September 2011. Tipperary were the defending champions.
