The Japanese anime television series Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor is based on the first part, Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji, of the manga series Kaiji , written and illustrated by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. The series was broadcast on Nippon TV from October 3, 2007, to April 2, 2008. [1] [lower-alpha 1]
A second season, titled Kaiji: Against All Rules and based on the second part of the manga, Tobaku Hakairoku Kaiji, was announced by Weekly Young Magazine in 2011. [3] It was broadcast on Nippon TV from April 6 to September 28, 2011. [4] [lower-alpha 2]
In the United States, Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor was streamed on the Joost service in December 2008. [6] In July 2013, Crunchyroll announced the streaming rights to both seasons. [7] In November 2020, Sentai Filmworks announced that they have licensed both seasons of the series for streaming on select digital outlets and home video release. Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. It has been serialized in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Magazine since February 1996. The story centers on Kaiji Itō, a consummate gambler, and his misadventures around gambling. The Kaiji manga consists of six series; the current series, Tobaku Datenroku Kaiji: 24 Oku Dasshutsu-hen, started in 2017.

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories also known in Japan as Yami Shibai and Theater of Darkness is a Japanese anime series. The first season was directed by Tomoya Takashima, with scripts written by Hiromu Kumamoto and produced by ILCA. Each episode was animated to mimic the kamishibai method of story-telling. The series is organized into a collection of shorts with each episode being only a few minutes in length. Each episode features a different tale based on myths and urban legends of Japanese origin.

It is a spin-off to the original Zettai Karen Children manga series, created by Takashi Shiina. A manga adaptation by Rokurou Ogaki was serialized in Shogakukan's Shōnen Sunday S from March 2013 to July 2015, with its chapters collected into six tankōbon volumes.
Mr. Tonegawa: Middle Management Blues is a Japanese manga series written by Tensei Hagiwara and illustrated by Tomohiro Hashimoto and Tomoki Miyoshi. It is a spin-off of the main series Kaiji by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. It was serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Young Magazine from June 2015 to January 2018, and later moved to Comic Days manga app in March 2018 and finished in June 2020. Its chapters were collected in ten tankōbon volumes. The series comically depicts the struggles and conflicts of Tonegawa, a middle manager who is an executive of the Teiai Group and leads a large number of blacksuits, but is most concerned about the mood of the tyrannical Chairman Hyōdō.
