List of Kerry GAA club competitions

The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) (or Kerry GAA), one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and responsible for Gaelic games in County Kerry, organises sports competitions for the county's clubs. Leagues and Championships are played. The competitions are organised from senior to under-age level. The following is a list of such competitions.

Football

Senior Football Championship

The Kerry Senior Football Championship is the top level football competition in Kerry. [1] The Kerry County Club Championship is a competition between the clubs (excluding divisions), who participate in the Kerry Senior Football Championship. [2]

Intermediate Football Championship

The Kerry Intermediate Football Championship is the second level football competition in Kerry. [2]

Premier Junior Football Championship

The Kerry Premier Junior Football Championship is the third level football competition in Kerry. [3]

Junior Football Championship

The Kerry Junior Football Championship is the fourth level football competition in Kerry. [3]

Novice Football Championship

The Kerry Novice Football Championship is the fifth level football competition in Kerry. [3]

In 2016, The Kerry Club Championships were restructured, with immediate effects on the naming of several competitions. The Kerry Senior Hurling Championship is the top level hurling competition in Kerry. [4]

The Kerry Intermediate Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by mid-tier Kerry GAA clubs.

Annascaul GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club that plays Gaelic football and is based in Annascaul, County Kerry, Ireland. They play in Division 4 of the County Football League and in the Kerry Junior Premier Football Championship. Annascaul is formed by three communities- Annascaul, Inch and Camp. Camp has the proud distinction of having the most All-Ireland medals per head of population of any village in Ireland. There are reports of Hurling being played in the area during the early part of the 20th century.

The East Kerry Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association caters for 13 Gaelic football clubs and 1 hurling club in the East Kerry division of the GAA county of Kerry.

Rathmore is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Rathmore, County Kerry, Ireland. Together with 12 other football clubs they form the East Kerry Division of the GAA county of Kerry Notable players include Paul Murphy, Shane Ryan, Aidan O'Mahony.

Finuge is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Finuge, County Kerry, Ireland. The senior team currently competes in the Kerry Junior Football Championship. They also form part of the Feale Rangers divisional team that plays in the Kerry Senior Football Championship. Many of the players also play hurling with Lixnaw in the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship. Players from the club have won a total of 17 Senior All-Ireland Gaelic football medals. The club also supplied the Kerry GAA senior team manager from 2012-2018, Éamonn Fitzmaurice who took over from Jack O'Connor as manager of Kerry. Fitzmaurice managed Kerry in the 2014 to a Football All-Ireland Senior Championship victory. He managed Kerry to victory in one National League, six Munster Championships and two McGrath Cups.

Laois GAA clubs contest Gaelic football and hurling competitions. There are both leagues and championships. From senior to under-age level.

Kenmare Shamrocks GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Kenmare in County Kerry. The club plays both Gaelic Football and Hurling and is affiliated with Kenmare District.

Templenoe GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Templenoe in County Kerry, Ireland. The club competes as a joint divisional side with other clubs from the Kenmare area like Tuosist GAA in the county championship and as an individual club in other competitions. Hurling was by far the stronger of the two codes until the 1920s. However, since then Gaelic football has taken pride of place and hurling is no longer played in the club. The club was founded in 1933 but did not affiliate to the GAA until 1938.

Lixnaw Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the north of County Kerry, Ireland. They primarily play in competitions organised by the Kerry County Board of the GAA, such as the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship, and also in competitions organised by the North Kerry Hurling Board. The club is principally concerned with the game of hurling but many of their players also play gaelic football, many with Finuge. The club has won 9 Kerry Senior Hurling Championships, 10 Kerry Minor Hurling Championships and 5 Kerry Under-21 Hurling Championships.

Kilgarvan is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Kilgarvan, County Kerry, Ireland. They play in the Intermediate Hurling Championship and Division 2 county league. Kilgarvan play football in Division 5 of the county league and in the Kenmare District Board championship and County Novice Championship.

Ballyheigue GAA is a hurling and Gaelic football club in the Ballyheigue area of north County Kerry, Ireland. The club competes at all levels of hurling at county and North Kerry and also plays some underage football as well as competing in the county junior football league and the county novice football shield.

Abbeydorney GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association is an Irish hurling club from North County Kerry near Tralee, Ireland.

Beale GAA is a Gaelic football club based in the town of Ballybunion, County Kerry, Ireland. Founded in 1972, the club fields teams in competitions organised by the North Kerry Football Board. Beale won the North Kerry Senior Football Championship in 2014. Sand in our Boots, a book published in October 2016 and recording the history of Beale GAA club, won the GAA's 2016 MacNamee Award for 'best GAA club publication'.

The Kerry Premier Junior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking junior clubs in the county of Kerry in Ireland. It is the third tier overall in the entire Kerry Gaelic football championship system.
