Ahta Indian Reserve No. 3, officially Ahta 3, is an Indian reserve on Bond Sound on the Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located at the mouth of the Ahta River. It is under the governance of the Kwikwasut'inuxw Haxwa'mis First Nation and is 7.1 hectares in area.

Bond Sound is a sound located on the northeast side of Tribune Channel in the Central Coast region of British Columbia. Bond Sound, with the head of Kingcome Inlet to its north, frames the Wishart Peninsula. Like other names in the area, it was named by Captain Pender in 1865, in association with other names in the area associated with HMS Tribune.

Apsigiyu or Apsigayu or Apsagayu is a village site of the Kwikwasut'inuxw and Mamalilikulla groups of the Kwakwaka'wakw peoples, located at the head of Shoal Harbour on the northwest side of Gilford Island, in the Queen Charlotte Strait-Johnstone Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada. The village, whose name means "otherside forehead" in Kwak'wala, is used for clam and salmon harvesting, and also for timber harvesting. The village's site is an Indian reserve, Apsagayu Indian Reserve No. 1A, 2.2 ha., and is under the administration of the Mamalilikulla-Qwe'Qwa'Sot'Em Band, along with two others, Compton IR No. 6 and Mahmalillikullah Indian Reserve No. 1, which is the site of Memkumlis, the main village site of the Mamalillikula, which is often referred to as Mamalillikulla.

Knight Inlet

Knight Inlet or Tsawatti or Tswawadwi is one of the principal inlets of the British Columbia Coast, and the largest of the major inlets in the southern part of the Coast. It is fifth in sequence of the great saltwater inlets north from the 49th parallel north near Vancouver, but it is the first whose outflow points away from the Strait of Georgia, opening into Queen Charlotte Strait at the Kwakwaka'wakw community of Memkumlis on Village Island.

Kingcome Inlet is one of the lesser principal fjords of the British Columbia Coast, north and east of Broughton Island. It is sixth in sequence of the major saltwater fjords north from the 49th parallel north near Vancouver and similar in width to longer inlets such as Knight Inlet and Bute Inlet, but it is only 35 km in length from the mouth of the Kingcome River to Sutlej Channel, which ultimately connects around Broughton Island to the main regional waterway of the Queen Charlotte Strait. Kingcome Inlet has a short side inlet, Wakeman Sound, fed by the Wakeman River.

Gwaʼsala-ʼNakwaxdaʼxw Nations

The Gwa'Sala-Nakwaxda'xw Nations are a union of two Kwakwaka'wakw peoples in a band government based on northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, whose main reserve community is near the town of Port Hardy in the Queen Charlotte Strait region of the Central Coast region of British Columbia, Canada. The band government is a member of the Kwakiutl District Council and, for treaty negotiation purposes, the Winalagalis Treaty Group which includes three other members of the Kwakiutl District Council.

Kwikwasut'inuxw Haxwa'mis, formerly the Kwicksutaineuk-ah-kwa-mish First Nation is a First Nations band government based on northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, in the Queen Charlotte Strait region. It is a member of the Musgamagw Tsawataineuk Tribal Council, along with the ‘Namgis First Nation and the Tsawataineuk First Nation. The Kwikwasut'inuxw and Haxwa'mis are two of the many subgroups of the peoples known as Kwakwaka'wakw, which means "speakers of Kwak'wala", their language, and were combined into one band by the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs.

The Tsawataineuk First Nation is a First Nations band government in the Queen Charlotte Strait region north of northern Vancouver Island in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is a member of the Musgamagw Tsawataineuk Tribal Council, along with the ‘Namgis First Nation and the Kwicksutaineuk-ah-kwa-mish First Nation.

Gilford Island is an island in British Columbia, Canada, located between Tribune Channel and Knight Inlet. The island has an area of 382 square kilometres (147 sq mi). Turnour Island is to the south across Tribune Channel, the entrance to Thompson Sound to the east.

The Mamalilikulla Band is a First Nations band government based on northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The home territory of the Mamalilikulla and Qwe-Qwa'Sot'Em groups of Kwakwaka'wakw was in the maze of islands and inlets of the eastern Queen Charlotte Strait region around the opening of Knight Inlet, mainly on Village Island, where their principal village Memkumlis is.

Kingcome, known as Gwa'yi in Kwak'wala, is an unincorporated settlement in the Kingcome Inlet area of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located a few miles up the Kingcome River from the head of the inlet. Quaee Indian Reserve No. 7 is the Indian reserve containing the village.

Simoom Sound is a sound on the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located on the east and north sides of the Wishart Peninsula between Tribune Channel and Kingcome Inlet. The former steamer landing and current post office of Simoom Sound. The former steamer landing, now classified as a "locality" and the post office of Simoom Sound, British Columbia is named for the sound, which is located at Echo Bay on Gilford Island. Kawages Indian Reserve No. 4 is located on the north side of Simoom Sound and is a reserve of the Dzawada'enuxw First Nation of the Kwakwaka'wakw peoples.

Hopetown is an Indian Reserve community of the Gwawa'enux group of Kwakwaka'wakw peoples, located on the south side of Watson Island, to the north of Broughton Island in the Broughton Archipelago on the north side of the Queen Charlotte Strait region on the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada. The community is located entirely within Hopetown Indian Reserve No. 10A. The traditional name of the village in the Kwak'wala language is Hikums, which has also been spelled Hegams and Hakina and Hegams, meaning "facing outwards".

The Tlowitsis Nation, formerly the Tlowitsis Tribe and the Tlowitsis-Mumtagila First Nation, is the Indian Act band government of the Ławit'sis (Tlowitsis) tribe of the Kwakwaka'wakw peoples, located in the Queen Charlotte Strait-Johnstone Strait area in the Discovery Islands between Vancouver Island and the British Columbia mainland in Canada. Ławit'sis territory covers parts of northern Vancouver Island, Johnstone Strait, and adjoining inlets of the mainland. Kalugwis, on Turnour Island, was their principal community in times past, but the band's offices are in the city of Campbell River to the southeast. Hanatsa IR No. 6 on Port Neville is the most populated of the band's Indian reserves.

The Ahta River is a river in the Central Coast of British Columbia, flowing into Bond Sound to the south via the short Ahta Valley, which connects to the head of Kingcome Inlet to the north.

Kalugwis, or Karlukwees or Qalogwis, is the principal community of the Tlowitsis Nation of the Kwakwaka'wakw peoples of the Johnstone Strait region of the South Coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is located on the south shore of Turnour Island facing Beware Passage and is within Karlukwees Indian Reserve No. 1, a.k.a. Karlukwees 1, 10.8 ha.

Turnour Island is an island in the Johnstone Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia, located between Gilford Island and West Cracroft Island. On the other side Canoe Passage on its northwest is Village Island, while to its south and southwest is Beware Passage, across from which is Harbledown Island. Gilford Island is to the north across Tribune Channel. Separating Turnour from West Cracroft is Clio Channel.

Eliot Passage is a marine waterway between Village Island (E) and Pearl Island (W) in the Johnstone Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, southwest of the opening of Knight Inlet. The Kwakwaka'wakw village of Memkumlis, also known as Mamalillaculla after the name of the group of Kwakwaka'wakw whose principal village it is, is on its eastern shore on Village Island.

Waluk was a Kwakwaka'wakw village of the Tsawataineuk group located at Anchorage Cove on the south shore of the head of Kingcome Inlet in the Central Coast region of British Columbia, Canada. The site was used for timber harvesting, fishing and trapping.

Kliquit or Lekwe't or t'lakwitan, meaning "seaweed body" was a Kwakwaka'wakw village of the Mamalilikulla subgroup located on the north shore of Knight Inlet, east of Hoeya Sound in British Columbia, Canada. The Mamalilikulla used it as a base for fishing and trapping.

Nalakgala or nalaxdlala, meaning "hind end up river", was a Kwakwaka'wakw village at the head of Hoeya Sound on the north side of Knight Inlet in British Columbia. This was a place of origin for the Walas group, but by 1914 the village site and associated harvesting area was claimed by the Mamalilikulla.

igisbalis, meaning "sandy beach at point", was village and halibut-fishing station of the Mamalilikulla group of Kwakwaka'wakw just behind Hoeya Head, on the south side of the opening of Hoeya Sound on Knight Inlet in the Central Coast region of British Columbia, Canada.

Drury inlet is an inlet in the Queen Charlotte Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, extending west from Wells Passage to the northwest of North Broughton Island, northwest of the town of Port Hardy. Branching off to the northeast from the north side of the head of the inlet is Actaeon Sound.
