The University of Oregon Athletic Department has existed in its current hierarchical state with a director of athletics at the top of the department and assistant and associate directors serving as subordinates since 1947. In that time there have been twelve directors of athletics. Three former head football coaches, Len Casanova, Rich Brooks and Mike Bellotti have gone on to serve as director of athletics at some point after their coaching careers. The current director of athletics is Rob Mullens, he has held his post since July 15, 2010. [1]

Robert Michael Bellotti is an American college football analyst for ESPN and ABC. He was with the University of Oregon's football program for over 20 years serving as offensive coordinator for six years, head coach for 14 years, and athletic director for one year. Bellotti is the winningest coach in Oregon football history and is credited with building the program into a major football power. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
The Oregon Ducks are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Oregon, located in Eugene. Richard Llewellyn Brooks is a retired American football player and coach. He was the head coach at the University of Oregon from 1977 to 1994, the National Football League (NFL)'s St. Louis Rams from 1995 to 1996, and the University of Kentucky from 2003 to 2009.
The Oregon Ducks football program is a college football team for the University of Oregon, located in the U.S. state of Oregon. The team competes at the NCAA Division I level in the FBS and is a member of the Pac-12 Conference (Pac-12). They will join the Big Ten Conference in 2024. Although now known as the Ducks, the team was commonly called the Webfoots until the mid-1960s.
Leonard Joseph Casanova was an American football and baseball player, coach, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Santa Clara University (1946–1949), the University of Pittsburgh (1950), and the University of Oregon (1951–1966), compiling a career college football record of 104–94–11. Casanova was also the head baseball coach at Santa Clara from 1940 to 1942, tallying a mark of 39–25. After retiring from coaching, he served as the athletic director at Oregon. Casanova was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1977.

Led by Mike Bellotti in his 14th and final season as head coach, the Ducks compiled an overall record of 10–3 with a mark of 7–2 in conference play, tying for second place in the Pac-10. Oregon was invited to the Holiday Bowl, where the Ducks defeated Oklahoma State, 42–31. The team played home games at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.

Greg Byrne is the athletic director at the University of Alabama. Prior to this appointment, Byrne was the athletic director at the University of Arizona from 2010-2017, the athletic director at Mississippi State University from 2008–2010 after serving as associate athletic director for the preceding two years. Previously, Byrne held associate director of athletics positions at University of Kentucky, and Oregon State University.

Led by seventh-year head coach Mike Bellotti, the Ducks compiled an overall record of 11–1 with a mark of 7–1 in conference play, winning the Pac-10 title. Oregon was invited to the Fiesta Bowl, where the Ducks beat Colorado. The team played home games at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. The stadium was undergoing its fourth and current renovation and expansion from 41,698 in capacity to 54,000, with standing room for 60,000.
Mitch Barnhart is the athletics director for the Kentucky Wildcats athletics program at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. Barnhart was hired by the university in 2002 succeeding Larry Ivy. Barnhart served in the same capacity at Oregon State University from 1998 to 2002. He is the university's tenth athletics director. In August 2023 Barnhart signed an extension on his contract which will keep him at Kentucky until 2028.
Michael Nicholas "Iron Mike" Mikulak was an American football fullback who played three seasons in the National Football League.

Mark August Helfrich is an American former football coach who is an analyst for Fox Sports. He was the head coach for the University of Oregon from 2013 to 2016. He most recently served as the offensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2019. He played professionally in the Austrian Football League (AFL).

The 1963 Sun Bowl was a college football bowl game between the SMU Mustangs and the Oregon Webfoots in El Paso, Texas. It was the 30th edition of the Sun Bowl, played on Tuesday, December 31, with a kickoff at 2 pm MST.
Rob Mullens is the current athletic director at the University of Oregon. He has presided over the most successful period in Oregon history, dubbed by some as the "Decade of the Duck." He was hired on July 15, 2010 from Kentucky where he was the Wildcats' deputy director of athletics.
The 1966 Oregon Webfoots football team represented the University of Oregon in the Athletic Association of Western Universities (AAWU) during the 1966 NCAA University Division football season. Three home games were played on campus in Eugene at Hayward Field and one at Civic Stadium in Portland.
