This is an incomplete list of Presidents Pro Tempore of the Senate of Liberia. The Senate elects President Pro Tempore to preside for a term of six years. [1]
The Senate is the upper house of the bicameral legislative branch of Liberia, and together with the House of Representatives comprises the Legislature of Liberia. Each of the fifteen counties are equally represented by two senators, elected to serve staggered nine-year terms. The Senate meets at the Capitol Building in Monrovia.

Cletus Segbe Wotorson is a Liberian politician and geologist. On March 26, 2009 he was elected as President Pro Tempore of the Senate of Liberia, beating out fellow Senator Gbehzohngar Milton Findley. He served until 2012.

The Council of States is the upper house of the parliament of Sudan. Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) caused establishment of bicameral National Legislature, whose members were chosen in mid-2005. The upper chamber is Council of States, which had 54 members. After the independence of South Sudan, the legislature was reduced to 32 members. The members are indirectly elected by state legislatures. Members serve five-year terms. The National Legislature, which includes the Council of States, was dissolved on 11 April 2019 following the overthrow of President Omar al-Bashir and his National Congress of Sudan in a military coup.

The Senate consists of thirty seats, with three members from each of the ten administrative departments. Prior to the creation of the department of Nippes in 2003, there were twenty-seven seats. Senators are elected by popular vote to six-year terms, with one-third elected every two years. There are no term limits for Senators; they may be re-elected indefinitely.
Frank Emmanuel Tolbert was a Liberian politician and brother of President William R. Tolbert, Jr. The oldest son of William R. Tolbert Sr., national chairman of the ruling True Whig Party, he grew up in Bensonville, attended Zion Praise Baptist Church, graduated from Liberia College, and became involved in politics relatively early in life. As his family became more and more closely connected to the family of Supreme Court Justice William V.S. Tubman, Frank began to become prominent: when Tubman ran for President in 1943, he was rumoured to be Tubman's first choice for Vice President, although his younger brother William was eventually chosen, perhaps because of Frank's unpredictable moods and violent temper.
