<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sydney Camm</span> British aeronautical engineer

Sir Sydney Camm, CBE, FRAeS was an English aeronautical engineer who contributed to many Hawker aircraft designs, from the biplanes of the 1920s to jet fighters. One particularly notable aircraft he designed was the Hawker Hurricane fighter.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Royal School of Mines</span> Former mining college, now part of the Imperial College

The Royal School of Mines comprises the departments of Earth Science and Engineering, and Materials at Imperial College London. The Centre for Advanced Structural Ceramics and parts of the London Centre for Nanotechnology and Department of Bioengineering are also housed within the building. The school as an organisation no longer exists, having been incorporated into the Faculty of Engineering since 2003. Today the Royal School of Mines refers to both the departments associated with the former school, and the Grade II listed Edwardian building by Sir Aston Webb, which is viewed as a classic of academic architecture. The building and relevant student union still carry the name.

The Royal Aeronautical Society, also known as the RAeS, is a British multi-disciplinary professional institution dedicated to the global aerospace community. Founded in 1866, it is the oldest aeronautical society in the world. Members, Fellows, and Companions of the society can use the post-nominal letters MRAeS, FRAeS, or CRAeS, respectively.

Frederick Pei Li was a Chinese-American physician. He is most famous for his discovery, together with his colleague Joseph Fraumeni, of Li–Fraumeni syndrome, which is caused by germline mutations of the p53 tumor suppressor gene and genetically predisposes families to high rates of cancer.

Sir Frederick Charles Frank, OBE, FRS was a British theoretical physicist. He is best known for his work on crystal dislocations, including the idea of the Frank–Read source of dislocations. He also proposed the cyclol reaction in the mid-1930s, and made many other contributions to solid-state physics, geophysics, and the theory of liquid crystals.

<i>Play</i> (Jolin Tsai album) 2014 studio album by Jolin Tsai

Play is the thirteenth studio album by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai, released by Warner and Eternal on November 15, 2014. The album marks a departure from the traditional framework of C-pop albums, featuring rich and diverse musical styles and themes. It was produced by Starr Chen, Andrew Chen, Tiger Chung, JJ Lin, and Michael Lin.

Sir Martin Nicholas Sweeting is the founder and executive chairman of Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL). SSTL is a corporate spin-off from the University of Surrey, where Sweeting is a Distinguished Professor who founded and chairs the Surrey Space Centre.

Akhilesh Reddy is a British physician-scientist. He completed the MB/PhD program at the University of Cambridge where he received a PhD from the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. He previously was a Wellcome Trust Senior Fellow in Clinical Sciences at the University of Cambridge and Fellow of St John's College, Cambridge. He is currently an associate professor of pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">G. Satheesh Reddy</span> Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri

G. Satheesh Reddy is an Indian aerospace scientist who served as the thirteenth chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) from 2018 to 2022. He is also the chairman of the Governing Body of the Aeronautical Development Agency, and the Scientific Adviser to Raksha Mantri.

Weber Yang is a Taiwanese actor. He is known for his roles in the television series Time Story (2008), Who's The One (2011), Two Fathers (2013), The Way We Were (2014) and A Touch of Green (2015). Upon completion of filming A Touch of Green, Yang took a year-long break from acting to spend more time with his parents and to take care of his older sister, who was diagnosed with cancer in that year. He returned to the screen in 2017, starring in the SET Metro drama series The Masked Lover.

ROCS <i>Si Ning</i> Republic of China frigate

ROCS Si Ning (PFG-1203) is a Kang Ding-class frigate of the Republic of China Navy.

Hsin-Chien Huang is an artist and director working in mixed media. Science, technology, new media, programming, and algorithms are tools he uses to bring the universe of his imagination to life. He served as artistic director for SEGA and Sony. Huang collaborated with pioneering American media artist Laurie Anderson on their VR work La Camera Insabbiata/Chalkroom which won the Best VR experience Award at the 74th Venice International Film Festival(it was the first edition of the festival that introduced its virtual-reality section); he also designed her 1995 CD-ROM, Puppet Motel. His work Bodyless was also nominated in the 76th of the festival. In 2011,Huang received the "Pride of Taiwan" honor from president of Taiwan Ma Ying-jeou.

Victor Hao Li was an American law professor and academic administrator who served as President of the East–West Center from 1981 to 1989.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Play (Jolin Tsai song)</span> 2014 single by Jolin Tsai

"Play" is a song by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai, recorded for her thirteenth studio album, Play (2014). The song was composed by Nese Ni (倪子岡), written by Katie Lee and produced by Starr Chen. The song was released on October 27, 2014, as the first single from the album "Play" by Warner Music Taiwan and Eternal Music Production (凌時差音樂). The song and its music video were shortlisted for Best Song of the Year and Best Music Video at the 26th Golden Melody Awards, Nese Ni and Starr Chen were shortlisted for Best Arranger for the song, and Starr Chen was shortlisted for Best Single Producer for the song.
