The 2020 Sorcerous Stabber Orphen anime television series is based on the light novel series of the same name written by Yoshinobu Akita and illustrated by Yuuya Kusaka. The anime remake is animated by Studio Deen and directed by Takayuki Hamana, with Reiko Yoshida handling series composition, and Takahiko Yoshida designing the characters. Showtaro Morikubo reprised his role as Orphen, while the rest of the characters had new voice actors. [1] The 2020 remake was commemorated to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the anime series. A second season of the 2020 remake was announced with the title of Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Battle of Kimluck. [9] It aired from January 20 to March 31, 2021. [9] [10] The opening theme is "Light of Justice" performed by Showtaro Morikubo while the ending theme is "Marionette Coup d'État" (操り人形クーデター, "Marionetto Kū Detā") performed by Mai Fuchigami. [5]
A third season was announced on September 26, 2022, titled Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Chaos in Urbanrama. Kenji Konuta replaced Reiko Yoshida as the scriptwriter. It aired from January 18 to April 5, 2023. A fourth season was announced on January 9, 2023, titled Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Sanctuary Arc. It aired from April 12 to June 28, 2023. [14] The opening theme is "Motive Rain" by Showtaro Morikubo while the ending theme is "Shūen no Destiny" (Destiny of the End) by Mai Fuchigami. [15]

Showtaro Morikubo is a Japanese voice actor and singer who has voiced characters in anime, drama CDs, and video games. He was formerly affiliated with I'm Enterprise, Sigma Seven and VIMS. His most notable roles were Shikamaru Nara from Naruto, Souji Okita in the Hakuouki series, X in the Mega Man X series and Yosuke Hanamura from Persona 4.
Orphen: Scion of Sorcery, known in Japan as Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, is an action role-playing video game for the PlayStation 2. The game was developed by SHADE Inc. co-published by Kadokawa Shoten and ESP in Japan, and released abroad by Activision. Its lore is based on the light novel series Sorcerous Stabber Orphen by Yoshinobu Akita. The name 'Orphen' is officially derived from the word 'orphan', but also has a resemblance to Ancient Greek Orpheus, who has surprising connections to ancient Japan and ancient India. An anime television series adaptation by Ajia-do Animation Works aired from July 5 to September 20, 2018. A second season by Tezuka Productions and Okuruto Noboru aired from April 9 to June 11, 2021.
The Seven Deadly Sins is an anime television series based on a Japanese fantasy manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki. The series debuted on MBS, TBS and other JNN stations on October 5, 2014. The staff was revealed in the combined 36–37 issue of the year: animation production by A-1 Pictures, direction by Tensai Okamura, and written by Shōtarō Suga, with Keigo Sasaki providing character designs and Hiroyuki Sawano composing the music. The first opening theme song is "Netsujō no Spectrum" performed by Ikimono-gakari for the first 12 episodes, and the second opening theme song is "Seven Deadly Sins" performed by Man with a Mission. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine since May 2016, with its chapters collected in twenty-four tankōbon volumes as of March 2023. It was later acquired by Kodansha, who has released the series since July 2020 under their Kodansha Ranobe Bunko imprint.
