The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is an American college athletic conference whose member institutions are located primarily in the South Central and Southeastern United States. Its fourteen members include the flagship public universities of ten states, three additional public land-grant universities, and one private research university. The conference is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. The SEC participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I in sports competitions; for football it is part of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A.

The Tulane Green Wave football team represents Tulane University in the sport of American football. The football team is coached by Willie Fritz, and plays its home games in Yulman Stadium on its campus in Uptown New Orleans.

The 1933 Georgia Bulldogs football team represented the Georgia Bulldogs of the University of Georgia during the 1933 college football season. The Bulldogs completed the season with an 8–2 record. This was the first year of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

The 1933 Florida Gators football team represented the University of Florida during the 1933 college football season. The season was Florida alumnus Dennis K. Stanley's first as the head coach of the Florida Gators football team. The Jacobs Blocking Trophy is the name of several similar annual college football awards bestowed by a conference upon their best blocker. The awards are named in honor of William P. Jacobs, founder and president of Presbyterian College from 1935 to 1945. The trophies are awarded by his son, Hugh, and great-grandson, William P. Jacobs V, based upon voting of the respective leagues' coaches. The award was originally presented to a player from the state of South Carolina from 1928 to 1932. A duplicate award was created and given to a player in the Southern Conference (SoCon) beginning in 1933. The Southeastern Conference (SEC) began the award in 1935. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) established its own version of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy in its first year of existence in 1953. The Division II South Atlantic Conference also bestows a version of the award.

The 1933 Tennessee Volunteers football team represented the University of Tennessee in the 1933 college football season. Robert Neyland served his eighth year as head coach of the Volunteers. This was the first year that the Vols played in the newly formed Southeastern Conference.

The 1933 Kentucky Wildcats football team was an American football team that represented the University of Kentucky as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) during the 1933 college football season. In their seventh and final season under head coach Harry Gamage, the Wildcats compiled an overall record of 5–5 record with a mark of 2–3 against conference opponents, tied for ninth place in the SEC, and were outscored by a total of 116 to 91. The team played its home games at McLean Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky.

The 1933 Ole Miss Rebels football team represented the University of Mississippi during the 1933 college football season. It was the first season of the Southeastern Conference.

The 1933 Sewanee Tigers football team was an American football team that represented Sewanee: The University of the South as a member of the Southeastern Conference during the 1933 college football season. In their third season under head coach Harry E. Clark, Sewanee compiled a 3–6 record.
