Top Country Albums is a chart that ranks the top-performing country music albums in the United States, published by Billboard . In 1992, four different albums topped the chart, based on electronic point of sale data provided by SoundScan Inc. [1]

In the issue of Billboard dated January 4, Garth Brooks was at number one with the album Ropin' the Wind . Brooks had held the top spot with that album and his previous release No Fences since the previous February, with the exception of a single week. [2] Brooks experienced a level of mainstream popularity and success in the early 1990s unprecedented for a country artist, making him one of the biggest-selling acts not only within the country market but across all genres. [3] Ropin' the Wind also topped the all-genre Billboard 200 listing for 18 weeks and went on to be certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. [4] [5] Brooks returned to number one in November with The Chase , which again was a crossover success, entering both the country albums chart and the Billboard 200 at number one. [6] [7]

Two other acts topped the Top Country Albums chart in 1992. In the issue of Billboard dated April 18, Wynonna ended Brooks's eleven-month occupation of the top spot with her self-titled album. It was the first solo release by the singer, who had previously performed with her mother Naomi Judd as the Judds. [8] Two months later, Billy Ray Cyrus reached the peak position with his debut album Some Gave All , which went on to spend 18 consecutive weeks at number one. The album was another major crossover success, topping the Billboard 200 for 17 weeks. [9] It would return to the top of the country chart for a further 16 weeks in 1993, its final total of 34 weeks in the top spot being the third-highest figure in the chart's history to date. [10] The album would go on to become the biggest-selling debut of all time by a solo artist in the country music genre. [11] Some Gave All's initial run at number one was ended in the issue of Billboard dated October 10 when Garth Brooks entered the chart at number one with The Chase; in that week albums by Brooks occupied four of the top five positions on the chart. [6] The Chase remained at number one for the final 12 weeks of 1992.

Ropin' the Wind is the third studio album by the American country music artist Garth Brooks. It was released on September 2, 1991, and was his first studio album to debut at No. 1 the Billboard 200 chart and the Top Country Albums chart. It was the first album by a country singer to top both of these charts since Kenny Rogers just over a decade earlier. It had four runs at No. 1 between September 28, 1991, and April 3, 1992, spending a combined 18 weeks at the top, eventually being certified 14× Platinum by the RIAA in 1998. In the UK, it reached the Top 50 pop albums list and went to No. 1 for several months on the country charts. It is the last studio album on Capitol Records Nashville until the 1995 album Fresh Horses.

Top Country Albums is a chart published weekly by Billboard magazine in the United States. The 50-position chart lists the most popular country music albums in the country, calculated weekly by Broadcast Data Systems based on physical sales along with digital sales and streaming. The chart was first published in the issue of Billboard dated January 11, 1964, under the title Hot Country Albums, when the number one album was Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash by Johnny Cash.

"No One Else on Earth" is a song written by Jill Colucci, Stewart Harris and Sam Lorber, performed by American country music artist Wynonna. It was released in August 1992 as the third single from Wynonna's self-titled debut album. It was also that album's third Number One hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. It was remixed for release in the UK in 1994, titled "No One Else on Earth '94". It was released on cassette, vinyl, and CD formats. This version was released internationally on Wynonna's first solo compilation album, Collection, in 1997, labeled as "No One Else on Earth ". This version was used for the music video for the song.
