The Diocese of Winchester forms part of the Province of Canterbury of the Church of England. Founded in 676, it is one of the older dioceses in England. It once covered Wessex, many times its present size which is today most of the historic enlarged version of Hampshire.
The Cathedral Church of St Thomas of Canterbury, commonly known as Portsmouth Cathedral, is an Anglican cathedral church in the centre of Old Portsmouth in Portsmouth, England. It is the cathedral of the Diocese of Portsmouth and the seat of the bishop of Portsmouth.
Douglas Geoffrey Rowell was an Anglican bishop, who served as Bishop of Basingstoke and then as the third Bishop in Europe until his retirement on 8 November 2013. Following his retirement he ministered as an assistant bishop in the Diocese of Chichester and in the Diocese of Portsmouth. He died in the early morning of Trinity Sunday, 11 June 2017.

The Bishop of Basingstoke is an episcopal title used by a suffragan bishop of the Church of England Diocese of Winchester, in the province of Canterbury, England. The title takes its name after the town of Basingstoke in Hampshire. The see was vacant since the translation of Peter Hancock to the Bishop of Bath and Wells on 4 March 2014; on 26 June 2014, it was announced that David Williams, Vicar of Christ Church Winchester, was to be consecrated Bishop of Basingstoke. Williams assumed the role on 19 September 2014 at a consecration service at Winchester Cathedral.

Timothy John Dakin is a retired Anglican bishop. He was the general secretary of the Church Mission Society (CMS) and the South American Missionary Society (SAMS) prior to his consecration. He was appointed as Bishop of Winchester in 2011, and, as such became an ex officio member of the House of Lords. From 2013 he served as the Bishop for Higher and Further Education.

St Joseph's Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Southampton, Hampshire. It is situated on Bugle Street, in the centre of the city, north of Town Quay. The church chancel was designed by Augustus Pugin and built in 1843. It was the first Catholic church founded in Southampton after the Reformation. It was the pro-cathedral of the Diocese of Portsmouth in 1882. It is a Grade II listed building.
All Saints Church is an Anglican parish church in the village of East Meon, Hampshire, England. It is a Grade I listed building and the oldest building in the village, lying so tight to a hill to the north of the village – part of the South Downs – that there was no room for a north aisle to be built. Most of the church dates from the Norman period, with the south chapel and south aisle being added in the 13th century.
