The following are awards for gay pornography including ones that are no longer given. The list is organized by award and by year for each award.
The GAYVN Awards are presented annually to honor work done in the gay pornography industry. The awards are sponsored by AVN Magazine , the parent publication of GAYVN Magazine, and continue the recognition for gay pornography which was part of the AVN Awards from 1986 to 1998.
The award recipients are listed below by the year of the award ceremony. In 1998, the first year of the awards, awards were given for that current year's work. Starting with the awards show held in 2000, the awards were given for the previous year's work. For example, the 8th GAYVN Awards were held Thursday, March 9, 2006; awards were given for the movies that were released in 2005. The awards have been held annually since 2000. The current record-holder for the most wins in one year is Lucas Entertainment's Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita , which won 14 awards in 2007. The Adult Erotic Gay Video Awards, better known as Grabby Awards, or The Grabbys, are presented annually for gay pornography since 1992, at live awards ceremonies in Chicago since 1999. [2] They have been sponsored by Gay Chicago Magazine , later by Grab Magazine (since 2009). [3]
The Hard Choice Awards are presented annually by online gay and bisexual male-oriented website XX Factor which features news and reviews of XXX Web sites, gay adult films, print erotica and other forms of adult entertainment to "provide gay and bisexual men with information, news and entertainment that promotes a safe, healthy and enjoyable erotic lifestyle." The awards first started for films reviewed in 1994 and just eleven categories, as of 2009, the 15th year, they present in over thirty categories.
Originated by Adam Gay Video Directory editor Dave Kinnick and backed by the in-house review staff, these awards were announced for the years 1989 to 1994. Kinnick had a monthly "Video Review" column in Advocate Men Magazine; the results were posted in his column each May from 1989 through 1993. The last awards were published for the first time in the Adam Gay Video 1996 Directory since the column ceased in December 1994. [4]
The Gay Erotic Video Awards were awarded annually for gay and bisexual pornography by the Gay Video Guide (GVG), a pocket-sized newsstand magazine that catered primarily to fans. The Gay Video Guide (GVG) Awards, as they were originally known, [5] were first given in the fall of 1992. Eligibility for the twenty-four awards that were presented in the inaugural year was determined by release date during a period ending in early October of a given year. Magazine staffers made the nominations and the voting was opened up to "special well-known celebrity judges". The award show was mounted as a charity event for the Aid for AIDS Organization. [4]
The awards continued after the Guide itself ceased publication and were renamed the Gay Erotic Video Awards in 1998. Ironically, 1998 was the last year for which awards were given, at ceremonies held in 1999. [5]
The Gay Producers Association (GPA) was a short-lived but significant group of gay video insiders that was formed during the "heyday of gay video". [4] Their awards show, presented in Los Angeles in June, was considered to be an "E ticket" ride for the industry. [4]
The Probe / Men in Video Awards, also called The Probies, were designed to be the People's Choice Awards of the gay pornography industry.[ citation needed ] Nominees were selected from names sent in from all over the world; winners were chosen by fans worldwide voting at a website or via mail, fax, or e-mail. The International Escort Awards is an annual award ceremony for male escorts, sponsored by HX magazine, and Rentboy.com. The first awards ceremony was held in October 2006 at the Roxy NYC nightclub in New York City, with Shequida as emcee. [9] While nominees were from 23 countries, half the winners were from New York. [10] Twelve awards were handed out. [11]
The Golden Dickie Awards were an award scheme run in 2008 and sponsored by RAD Video. [12] [13] The awards were structured to recognize amateur films and companies, as well as big-studios and ethnic films. Condomless productions were included. [14]
The European Gay Porn Awards (EGPA) focus mainly on gay porn from Europe, but also recognizes web-based content, non-European companies with European content, and professionals who work internationally. [15]

Treasure Island Media is an independent U.S. gay pornographic studio founded in 1998 by Paul Morris that primarily produces bareback films. It was the first commercial producer to specialize in bareback films as part of the emerging 1990s underground interest in the pre-condom era of gay porn that was concerned with the freedom of the sexual experience. The studio is named after Morris's favorite childhood book, Treasure Island. In addition to the original San Francisco office, TIM has production offices in New York, London and Mexico City.
Sean Paul Lockhart, known by his stage name Brent Corrigan, is an American film actor and director, known for Milk (2008), Judas Kiss (2011), and Triple Crossed (2013).
Larry David Paciotti is an American director of pornographic films. He appears as the drag-diva persona Chi Chi LaRue, and has been credited as director under the names "Lawrence David" and "Taylor Hudson".
Eurocreme is a European company based in London, England, that specializes in the production and distribution of gay pornographic films, generally featuring twinks, although it has also released a number of series devoted to men of more diverse appearance.

Will Clark is an American gay pornographic film actor. He is a member of the Grabby Awards Hall of Fame and has received a special citation from the GayVN Awards for his fundraising work in support of HIV/AIDS charities.
Steven Scarborough is an American gay pornographic film director, the founder of Hot House Entertainment (1993), and he was an Executive Vice-President and director for Falcon Studios from 1987 to 1993.
J. D. Slater is an American gay pornography actor, director, and music composer from San Francisco who co-founded Raging Stallion Studios (RSS) with Chris Ward in 1999.
James Elliott Naughtin, known professionally as Erik Rhodes, was an American gay pornographic film actor and director. After making his adult film debut as a performer in 2004, Rhodes became an exclusive model with Falcon Studios, and began directing adult films for Raging Stallion Studios when the studio was acquired by Falcon in 2011. Beyond his work in pornography, Rhodes was active in New York City nightlife and celebrity circles, and was once linked to fashion designer Marc Jacobs. In 2012, Rhodes died from cardiac arrest at the age of 30.
Lucas Entertainment is an independent New York-based gay pornographic studio started by porn star Michael Lucas, funded by his ex-husband Richard Winger. It is one of the largest such studios in the world. The studio is known for lavish, big-budget films, and it contends that its 2006 film Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita is the most expensive gay porn ever made. The film won 14 GayVN awards in 2007, the current record.

William Higgins, also known as "Wim Hof" was an American independent director of gay pornographic films who based his businesses in the Czech Republic since 1996. He started his career as a porn director and producer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when sellers of pornographic movies, including Falcon refused to mail them to customers in many southeastern states for legal reasons. In addition, he said in an interview, that gay porn movies were "so bad" that he decided to begin making them himself. In 1978, he was busted and his premises raided. Although the charges were later dropped, Higgins decided to go on a "world tour" looking for a better legal environment for his films. After rejecting Australia and Thailand as new venues, he settled in Amsterdam, where his distributor was, and later relocated to Prague, a less expensive city. Although the legal climate in the U.S. has changed, he had no interest in returning.
Rod Barry is a former pornographic actor and director from the United States who has been credited in over 150 pornographic films and internet-based shows since entering the industry in 1996. Most of Barry's appearances have been in the gay pornography genre, but he has appeared in bisexual, transsexual and heterosexual videos. In 2008, he was inducted into the gay pornography industry's Hall of Fame.
Chad Jason Hull, better known as Josh Weston, was an American pornographic actor who appeared in gay pornographic films and magazines.
Grabby Awards are presented annually in Chicago for the gay adult erotic video industry. The awards are sponsored by GRAB Magazine. The Grabby Awards and GRAB Magazine are owned and operated by Grabbys, LLC. The awards were owned until 2009 by Gay Chicago Magazine.
Armond Rizzo, previously Joey Rodriguez, is an American pornographic actor. Over the course of his career, he has won several awards, including two GayVN Awards and one Grabby Award, and was one of the most searched-for gay porn stars on Pornhub in the late 2010s.

Bill Gray, known professionally as Billy Santoro, is an American gay pornographic actor. He first began performing in gay pornographic films in 2013 as an exclusive model for Men.com, and appeared in Lucas Entertainment's first-ever bareback film alongside his then-boyfriend Seth Santoro later that year. He became a popular performer in the mid-2010s and appeared in over 200 gay pornographic films by 2017. He later became known for his controversies, including his tweets advocating for the shooting of Black people during the George Floyd protests in 2020.
