He is the son of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu. He also served as Panchayat Raj and Rural development, Information Technology and Communication minister through an MLC post. He was severely criticized for not contesting the elections and becoming a minister in his father Chandrababu Naidu's cabinet. However, after great criticism for not contesting any election, he finally chose to contest as an MLA for Mangalagiri Assembly Constituency and lost to YSR Congress Party candidate Alla Ramakrishna Reddy in 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. The Janasena Party is an Indian political party active in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Founded by Pawan Kalyan on 14 March 2014, it is currently the second largest party in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and a partner in the ruling coalition. Pawan Kalyan, the party leader, has been serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh since June 2024. Janasena advocates for a centrist approach with a focus on humanism. The party's election symbol is a glass tumbler.

Kidari Sarveswara Rao was an Indian politician originally representing the YSR Congress Party and later the TDP. He was a Member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Araku Valley. On 23 September 2018, he was shot dead at Araku valley by Maoists. After the death of Kidari, his son named Kidari Sravan Kumar was elected as State Tribal Welfare Minister without participation in Public Election by TDP Government.

The Second N. Chandrababu Naidu ministry of the state of Andhra Pradesh was formed on 11 October 1999 headed by N. Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister following the 1999 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. The cabinet was sworn in a simple ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad. Initially the chief minister and eight other ministers of his council of ministers were administered the oath of office and secrecy by the then Governor C. Rangarajan.
