The high commissioner of Malaysia to the Republic of India is the head of Malaysia's diplomatic mission to India. The position has the rank and status of an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary and is based in the High Commission of Malaysia,New Delhi. This ambassador also functioned as non-resident ambassador to Afghanistan and Bhutan.

Palam Marg is essentially a stretch of the Outer Ring Road of New Delhi which serves as the access point to the affluent neighbourhood of Vasant Vihar in South West Delhi. On one side of the road,there are twenty five houses which are a mixture of embassies and high profile residences.
These,separated from the main road by a service road,are considered to be among the best addresses in Delhi and since the plots of land are large,come at a premium. On the other side of the road are a mixture of parks and the famous Malai Mandir. Well known past and present residents include Ajay Bijli,the owner of PVR Cinemas,Aroon Purie Media tycoon,Deepak Kothari,owner of Kothari Products known for Pan Parag.
India–Malaysia relations,also called the Indo-Malaysian relations,are the bilateral foreign relations between India and Malaysia. India has a high commission in Kuala Lumpur,and Malaysia has a high commission in New Delhi and a consulate general in Chennai and Mumbai. Both countries are full members of the Commonwealth of Nations,Asia Cooperation Dialogue and G15. India and Malaysia are also connected by various cultural and historical ties that date back to antiquity. The two countries are on excellently friendly terms with each other seeing as Malaysia is home to a strong concentration of Indian immigrants. Mahathir Mohamad,the fourth and longest serving Prime Minister of Malaysia has Indian ancestry. On trade front their bilateral trade volume stands at $10.5 billion and is poised to reach $25 billion by 2020.
The Consulate General of Malaysia for Southern India is one of the three missions of Malaysia in India focusing on Malaysian interests in the region. It is located in Chennai and its jurisdiction includes the states of Tamil Nadu,Andhra Pradesh,Telangana,Karnataka,Kerala and the union territory of Puducherry. The other two are the Malaysian High Commission in New Delhi and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai,in addition to an honorary office in Kolkata. The current Consul General of the Chennai Consulate is Saravana Kumar Kumaravasagam.

Vijay Keshav Gokhale IFS,born 24 January 1959,is a retired Indian diplomat and the 32nd Foreign Secretary of India. Gokhale previously served as the Ambassador of India to China.
