Johnston Atoll is home to seven mammal species. Of those six are native and one is invasive. Of the six native species, five are whales and dolphins and the other one is the Hawaiian Monk Seal which sometimes is seen at the island. The only terrestrial mammal is the invasive House Mouse. Due to it being part of the United States Minor Outlying Islands it is under the control of the United States.
