Elections for the members of 5th Provincial assembly of Sindh were held on 17th December 1970. The first session was held on 2nd May 1972. [1]

The Provincial Assembly of Sindh is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani province of Sindh, and is located in Karachi, its provincial capital. It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan having a total of 168 seats, with 130 general seats, 29 seats reserved for women and 9 seats reserved for non-Muslims.
The chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the head of government of the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The chief minister leads the legislative branch of the provincial government, and is elected by the Provincial Assembly. As long as she or he has the confidence of the assembly, a single term in office for the chief minister can be a maximum of five years. There is no term on the number of limits. Ali Amin Gandapur is current chief minister of KPK.
Syed Qaim Daim Ali Shah is a Pakistani politician who served as the elected Chief Minister of Sindh for three terms. His last two terms combined, a total of eight years, makes him the longest serving Chief Minister of Sindh. He is Sindh President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and was an elected Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) from PS-220 (Khairpur-1).
Syed Ali Qutab Shah Rizvi was a member of the Pakistani Sindh Provincial Assembly in the 1970s and 1980s, representing the district of Tharparkar. He served in the fifth (1972–1977), sixth (1977), and eighth (1988–1990) assemblies.

Syed Murad Ali Shah is a Pakistani politician and structural engineer who is currently serving as the Chief Minister of Sindh province of Pakistan and a member of the Sindh Assembly. It is his third term as Chief minister. Shah earlier held portfolios such as Minister of Irrigation of Sindh and Finance Minister of Sindh.
Saeed Ghani is a Pakistani politician who served as the Provincial Minister of Sindh for Labour and Information and Human Resources. He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from August 2018 to August 2023. Previously, he was a member of Provincial Assembly of Sindh from July 2017 to May 2018 and a member of the Senate of Pakistan.
Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani was a Pakistani politician who was the Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh for Constituency PS-16 (Jacobabad-IV) from his election in June 2013 and the Provincial Minister of Sindh for Planning and Development since August 2016 until his death in February 2018. Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani was the chief of 36 tribes. Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani was the son of Sardar Noor Muhammad Khan Bijarani.
