Popular Orthodox Rally Greek radical right-wing populist political party

The Popular Orthodox Rally or People's Orthodox Alarm, often abbreviated to LAOS (ΛΑ.Ο.Σ.) as a pun on the Greek word for people, is a Greek radical right-wing populist political party. It was founded and is led by journalist Georgios Karatzaferis. Karatzaferis formed LAOS in 2000, a few months after he was expelled from the centre-right New Democracy.

39th Canadian Parliament

The 39th Canadian Parliament was in session from April 3, 2006 until September 7, 2008. The membership was set by the 2006 federal election on January 23, 2006, and it changed only somewhat due to resignations and by-elections. The Parliament was dissolved on September 7, 2008, with an election to determine the membership of the 40th Parliament occurring on October 14, 2008.

The Coalition of the Radical Left, mostly known by the syllabic abbreviation Syriza, is a political party in Greece originally founded in 2004 as a coalition of left-wing and radical left parties.

Ewa Kopacz Polish politician, Vice president of the European Parliament, former Prime Minister of Poland

Ewa Bożena Kopacz is a Polish politician and a Vice-President of the European Parliament. She was Prime Minister of Poland and Marshal of the Sejm - the first woman to have held the latter post. In addition, she was Minister of Health from November 2007 until November 2011. Kopacz has been a member of the Civic Platform since 2001. Kopacz became Prime Minister on 22 September 2014, succeeding Donald Tusk; she is the second woman to hold the office after Hanna Suchocka. Prior to entering politics, she was a pediatrician and a general practitioner. Her term ended on 16 November 2015.

Stoltenbergs Second Cabinet cabinet

Stoltenberg's Second Cabinet was the Government of Norway from 17 October 2005 to 16 October 2013. It was a coalition between the Labour Party, the Socialist Left Party and the Centre Party, known as the Red–Green Coalition. On 9 September 2013, the coalition was defeated in the 2013 election.

This is a list of members of the New South Wales Legislative Council, as elected at the 2003 and 2007 state elections. As members serve eight-year terms, half of the Council was elected in 2003 and did not face re-election in 2007, and the members elected in 2007 will not face re-election until 2015.

Stefanos Dragoumis judge, writer and politician

Stefanos Dragoumis was a judge, writer and the Prime Minister of Greece from January to October 1910. He was the father of Ion Dragoumis.

West Coast-Tasman is a New Zealand parliamentary electorate. Since its formation for the 1996 election, it has been held by Damien O'Connor of the Labour Party apart from one parliamentary term, when National's Chris Auchinvole was the representative from 2008 to 2011.

Athanasios (Thanos) Plevris is a Greek member of parliament and son of Greek author Konstantinos Plevris. He was elected into office in the 2007 parliamentary election with the Popular Orthodox Rally party.

49th New Zealand Parliament

The 49th New Zealand Parliament was elected at the 2008 election. It comprised 122 members, including an overhang of two seats caused by the Māori Party having won two more electorate seats than its share of the party vote would otherwise have given it. The Parliament served from 2008 until the November 2011 election.

40th Canadian Parliament

The 40th Canadian Parliament was in session from November 18, 2008 to March 26, 2011, and was the last Parliament of the longest-running minority government in Canadian history that began with the previous Parliament. The membership of its House of Commons was determined by the results of the 2008 federal election held on October 14, 2008. Its first session was then prorogued by the Governor General on December 4, 2008, at the request of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who was facing a likely no-confidence motion and a coalition agreement between the Liberal party and the New Democratic Party with the support of the Bloc Québécois. Of the 308 MPs elected at the October 14, 2008 general election, 64 were new to Parliament and three sat in Parliaments previous to the 39th: John Duncan, Jack Harris, and Roger Pomerleau.
