USS <i>Samuel Eliot Morison</i> American/Turkish military naval vessel

USS Samuel Eliot Morison (FFG-13), was the seventh Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate in service with the United States Navy. She was named for Rear Admiral Samuel Eliot Morison (1887–1976), one of America's most distinguished naval historians, who wrote more than 40 books on naval history including the official history of the US Navy in World War II.

USS <i>John A. Moore</i>

USS John A. Moore (FFG-19), eleventh ship of the Oliver Hazard Perry class of guided-missile frigates, was named for Commander John Anderson Moore (1910–1944). Ordered from Todd Pacific Shipyards, Los Angeles Division, San Pedro, California on 28 February 1977 as part of the FY77 program, John A. Moore was laid down on 19 September 1978, launched on 20 October 1979, and commissioned on 14 November 1981.

USS <i>Reid</i> (FFG-30) Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate

USS Reid (FFG-30), twenty-second ship of the Oliver Hazard Perry-class of guided-missile frigates, was named for Sailing Master Samuel Chester Reid (1783–1861).

Six ships of the United States Navy have borne the name USS Powhatan or USNS Powhatan, named in honor of Powhatan (1550–1618), an Indian chief in tidewater Virginia; the father of Pocahontas.

USS <i>Bumper</i> Submarine of the United States

USS Bumper (SS-333), a Balao-class submarine, was a ship of the United States Navy named for the bumper, a small fish of the North and South Atlantic Ocean.

USS <i>Greenlet</i>

USS Greenlet (ASR-10) was a Chanticleer-class submarine rescue ship in service with the United States Navy from 1943 to 1970. In June 1970, the ship was transferred to the Turkish Navy, renamed TCG Akin (A-585) and remained in service until 2017.

USS Penobscot (ATA-188/ATR–115) -- a Sotoyomo-class auxiliary fleet tug—was originally placed in service by the U.S. Navy as USS ATA–188 until she was renamed USS Penobscot (ATA-188) 16 July 1948. She served in the Pacific Ocean during World War II, and on the U.S. East Coast after the war’s end. She was finally decommissioned in 1971.

USS <i>Rockaway</i> Tender of the United States Navy

USS Rockaway (AVP-29), later AG-123, was a United States Navy Barnegat-class seaplane tender in commission from 1943 to 1946. She served in both the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean during World War II. In 1948, she was loaned to the United States Coast Guard, in which she served as the cutter USCGC Rockaway (WAVP-377), later WAGO-377, WHEC-377, and WOLE-377, from 1949 to 1972.

USNS <i>Powhatan</i> Tugboat of the United States Navy

USNS Powhatan (T-ATF-166) was the lead ship of the United States Navy Powhatan-class fleet ocean tugboats. She was in service with the U.S. Navy from 1979 to 1999, and then was leased to a private towing and salvage company. At the end of the lease in 2008, the ship was sold to the Turkish Navy which recommissioned her as TCG Inebolu.

BNS <i>Bijoy</i>

BNS Bijoy is a Castle-class guided missile corvette of the Bangladesh Navy. She has been serving in the Bangladesh Navy since 2011.

TCG Değirmendere (A-576), ex-Centaure (A674), is a Değirmendere-class offshore tugboat in the Turkish Navy. Built in Germany, she was launched in 1974. Christened Centaure, the tugboat saw service in the French Navy with designation A674 from 1974 until her decommissioning in 1999. The same year, she was sold to Turkey, renamed Değirmendere and went into service in the Turkish Navy under designation A-576.

TCG Birinci İnönü sometimes written as I. İnönü, is the name of several Turkish submarines, named in commemoration of the Turkish victory at the First Battle of İnönü in January 1921

TCG Ikinci İnönü sometimes written as II. İnönü, is the name of several Turkish submarines, named in commemoration of the Turkish victory at the Second Battle of İnönü in April 1921
